just landed in Koh Samui yesterday and, wow.....it's literally Bangkok, but an island. There's so much trash, rubbish and tourists. It's so overwhelming. I'm not trying to sound like a negative person, but Koh Samui is not what I thought it would be. I found a house on the western side of the island in a relatively clean and calm area, but if I had not found that house, I would have been on the next ferry ride out

Sumui’s been ruined since around 2010.
Try Koh Chang or Koh Kood for a more authentic Island experience.
