In the US- "loose leaf" paper is what we used in grade school- very thin lined paper. I assume that your meaning is not the same! so funny how we term things so different ly over here- so what you are using is watercolor paper torn out from a pad or block right? 🤗

How can you paint on the floor? 😮

Hello Orla, thank you for a really great, informative video. May I ask a tedious question, please? Do you know the brand of that pencil case you use? Is it just mesh (as in, air-circulating) or is it clear plastic? I’m trying to figure out the best storage options for some new art materials, and I have seen this style of pencil case on a couple of artists’ videos now.. Loved watching this; seeing your process made me restless wanting to go pick up tools and make some marks! Why I create is a question I’ve been exploring for myself lately..and it does come down to similar things you’ve shared. Essentially a love for the process, that feeling of having made something from nothing (in a way it’s like connecting to that God-like source within us) and a connection to myself, knowing that that connection makes me approach the world and others in a lighter, fuller, brighter way. So it’s not self indulgent at all 😊

Your healthy mindset regarding your creative process is so healing for me as someone who has been in a toxic relationship with my art journey for years now. I’ve become so fearful of my work and my process and the way you’ve freed yourself to your art is so beautiful to me. I crave that. I want that freedom, and genuine enjoyment again. I’ve become so fearful and restricted and I can’t stand it any longer. I won’t stop creating!

I'm still finding my style but like the idea of working on multiple pieces at a time. I have done that once before and make do that with each idea to fully explore it. Thanks for the inspo! 🎨 🖼

How do you handle people with their dog off leash

Words & painting 😊 Over the past 3 yrs I have discovered just how deeply the 2 meld together for me. When I’m outside *gathering* from the landscape I now quite often work a double landscape page, my marks on the right, on the left my words. These can be anything from descriptions of sounds and smells, visualisation of how I’d blend a colour I’ve seen, words that just pop into my head while working & often a short poem to capture how the view made me feel. I find those words help me get back to where I was in my head at the time 😊

Wow!!!! So cool, so beautiful Orla, love the journal!💙 the only thing is that I only enjoy blank ones, I feel so much more free...will it eventually be available in blank paper??! Pleeeease!😝 Anyway, it was very interseting to see the process, and get you insights, as always😊

Beautiful notebook! And thank you for idea for this video, I have so many unfinished projects. So I after watching your video I am inspired to think about this and to finish something. And it’s really interesting why we don’t finish our works. Maybe we get inspired by new something and the old project gets not such attractive
