Zero10x Nutt hydraulic brakes install, bleed, trim. Long.
After several months, we have notice our riding speed have significantly increased. The rear oil shock, heavy duty fold clamp and seat upgrades have really allowed us to push the aggressiveness and confidence up. We started to notice deficiencies in the cable brakes. The cable brakes just don't have the stoping feel and precision like my vsett hydraulic brakes so we decided to swap out the Zero 10x cable brakes with an aftermarket Nutt oil brakes. This is a detail video of how we perform the the swap, step by step. I trimmed the video as much as I can but it still quite long. The video is quite long, 20 minutes, so it was separated into the following sections.

Zero 10x Seat installation and test

Upgraded the Zero 10x with a seat from Varla. The seat is very well made, its not to heavy and is mostly aluminum. The seat clamps to the base and makes it easy to remove during transportation. There is a spring suspension built into the seat post and really helps to absorb most of the abrupt bumps. The Vsett 8, 8 , 9, 9 share the same throttle display and should work on them too. I need advice if anyone has the same problem as me. I had it converted to Thumb Control, it's better, but it's not for me, it's such a choppy speed, if I try to keep it up, it turns off and on. It's not smooth, does anyone have this problem???? At the same time, the track is larger than the original, but the handling is jerky...😒
is it possible just to cut the wire and joing wires, is it not the same as soldering, hate soldering. also is there an adapter that could be used to join wires together

Is it possible to get a throttle with a longer hall effect sensor? Or modify the existing one? Meaning that it would be easier to control speed and go slow. My VSett 8 is impossible to ride slow, like in places where theres walking traffic. I have to kinda "tap it" and throttle goes onoff onoff onoff and also theres a delay so it's uttter crap to control.

Thanks for the video! Do you have an idea for a suitable handlebar to upgrade the scooter with the "new" large Vsett display? The IOHawk branded model includes it but has the same flawed VSett handlebar which loosens up all the time.
With the new display it's really easy to change the throttle to one that fits the best for each. It's also possible to get a half twist throttle which is flush, cut it half and cut a piece from the original grip after the turn indicator part and place the half throttle in between.
Can i do this on LT-01 lcd?
Edit: switched to the 130x throttle. Better ergo and more control since they're isn't a huge gap of empty throttle so no set screw needed. Thanks for doing this! Got my 10 yesterday and changed it to a thumb throttle the next day. Wired the exact same throttle directly without using the extra wire and filled the hole with glue. Works great! Couldnt have done it without your vid!

the problem is that these have a different start and end voltage than most throttles, on my VESC based scooters i dont have that deadzone with these throttles
Could you have not kept the original handlebar and just rotated it so that it would fold to the rear instead of down?

I just tried to follow your instructions but after putting it back together and playing it in the throttle does not seem to respond . Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions on how to get mine working. My first thought is that there might be solder touching one of the other pins but I'm kind of new to soldering so I'm not very good at it. I have an ey3 display.
maybe your wire colors dont match the connections that need to be made in the ey3, it is critical to have the legs of the hall sensor connected in the same way as the sensor of the hall 3 if there were wires switched around theres a high probability the sensor is already dead so that would mean soldering a new hall sensor or a new throttle BUT you can take the original sensor from the ey3 aswell, but the pins need to be hooked up correctly and the sensor in the right direction

Why is it so hard to make a throttle with an actual decent sensitivity range as well as a full range of motion without the useless deadspots, shit perhaps ill just see howw these indeed work and make mine own.
The actual change is easy but its in the micro coding. Just need to increase the number of steps. The optional Zero 10x thumb throttle controller actually has a wider, more fine control throw and adapting that to the twist throttle actually makes it works very well. It is also compatible with Vsett but you will loose the RF key.

Sorry, I don't know.
The new display mounts to the handle bar stem bracket it’s self, but I’m not sure if it would interfere with the locking mechanism. I have both the display and the handle bars on order. I’ll try and elaborate once I receive and install them.

I think your magnet setting is wrong. Check the P-setting and verify it with the default.

I don't know. That is why I made sure the external throttle mechanism uses the same series Hall Effect sensor.

Acceleration is still really smooth? As someone with a hand disability, this mod is amazing by allowing the use of so many different throttles.
Yes, acceleration feel is the same as the finger throttle. There is a setting in the "P" menu to smooth out the throttle also.

I have an older d5 or d4 with a flat front tire, do I just have to replace the inner tube or the outer part too
Most likely just the inner tube. Make sure to run your finger through the inside of the tire to make sure there are no sharp prick left because it can just re-puncture your newer tube.
