Another tip for doing springs with the heads on: the horror fraught extended-bent needle nose pliers with a rubber band on the handle will hold the valve stems thru each port quite well. It's a good safey net.

Just a comparison with that gen2 mid-torq: I was able to get an LS crank bolt off in the same 2 seconds with a fairly old XC4.0 batt. I bought my stubby M12 because of the >280lb claims, couldn't do an LS bolt either - and that's with a 3/8-24mm stocket.

i borrowed a spring compressor of a mechanic mate of mine to swap the springs while the heads were off. i returned it about 40 mins later and he asked if i would need it again when i got the heads back. He actually looked shocked when i said i didn’t even take the valves out. Silly rabbit.

The valve thing is so funny. People worry way too much about that shit. If an exhaust valve had sealing issues, it'd already be burnt up. Did my sloppy subaru like that. 150-200k mile EJ25 heads hissing away, lil tap and they're mint.

I’ve always used a socket and a hammer to get the retainers off. Then going back together I use that tool. (Amazon $30) I have those same springs on my 6L I’ve buzzed it to 7300 so far. Nothing seems mad I also bought a Gen3 billet valley cover because it was $50 it came the next day, it was the only way I could get a valley gasket next day.

A dab of transmission assembly lube is extra stick 'n sticky for the valve locks. Be happy it's not FA Subaru, Pentastar, or other dohc guy with 5mm stems, all crammed in a place you can't even get your fingers.....

I've seen you do this a dozen times and I'll watch a dozen more. Those damn videos taught me how to do this mess and my turbo crusty boi c10 has been my daily for damn near two and half years. Crusty Bois for life.

P01 and P59 for segment swapping I'd use LSDroid or PCMHammer with OBDXPRO scantool since they don't cost credits. Then once all the segments are right, if you want more features from HPTuners I would license from there.
