Howabout the Oscars just focus on well made films than “victim-olympics?” Why does the Oscar have to be between a queer film and a racial profiling film? Glad I stopped watching right around the time of "Who Shot Mr Burns." Looks like I haven't missed very much during the past 30 years. It's no wonder why this show started out loved by everyone and now I never hear a good thing about it anymore.

Thought the character was funny, and I think it makes perfect sense for a new boss to be introduced at that time, since that’s how most corporate jobs are handled when an employee gives advanced notice about their departure. I think it was hilarious to watch Michael handle that in his own way. I also think that made a perfect segue into Creed becoming the temporary Regional Manager the next season, which is one of the funniest bits in the whole show, in my opinion. That cold open had me keeling over with laughter the first time I saw it

I get why you would want to make them lose when it's a satire of underdog movies, but the "happy" ending is over the top and works better IMO.

I have no clue why they made this show. I love How I Met Your Mother I saw it 7 times. How I Met Your Mothers last was bad. Yea the ending was horrible big time but Two And A Half Men had the worst ending though. But I would rather have seen a How I Met Your Mother gang because I love that show.

My friend was telling me how amazing this movie is and kept going on and on about it. It sounded good from his description so i checked it out and yeah, i was disappointed. I didn't think it was a good movie at all, it was boring.

One of the things that I think people forget, is that the laughs have to be accounted for as almost an extra character in the show. When the audience (or canned laugh) is reacting it's the 4th wall delivering its lines in the show the same as how the actors do. That's why pulling the laugh track out of Friends seems wrong, because it'd be like pulling one of the cast members out of a scene. It's also why adding canned laughs to the Office doesn't work because it'd be like adding a random extra into the scene reacting to things without changing the pacing of anyone else's performance. I'm not going to say one is objectively better than the other, but it's definitely disingenuous to say that "Friends or Seinfeld or How I Met Your Mother or the Big Bang Theory or whatever other multicam shows _aren't_ funny because when you take out the laugh track it's just awkward."

I can't agree with you. Legolas is the life of the party in the movie. A very exciting action figure. The fact that he has little dialogue is even more effective in lifting his character to higher, mythic and more esoteric realms. A quite useful character in the development of the screen play. The rating for the movie weren't poor. Fox was ran by Rupert Murdoch, who infamously hated genre. He wanted X-FILES gone originally. Do your research before claiming to be an authority.

Although I did enjoy the movies three things really annoyed me about them. 1. The addition of the scenes where Aragorn goes over the cliff and fights the wargs. There’s so much material in the books there was absolutely no need to add any. 3. The missing entmoot and the gross simplification of Treebeards motivation to join the war. 3. The absence of the scouring of the shire, probably my favourite part of the book, while I can see your argument for a neater story arc I’d still have loved to have seen the chapter on film. Funnily enough I didn’t miss the Tom bombadil sequence.

Some things work better in a book and some in a film. So everything good as is.

Another thing I noticed is and by no means is this meant to be taken as a slight to the incredibly talented actors/comedians of the UK version but the US version was cast in a way that just felt unnatural. All the actors were too good-looking, like they were too attractive in typical US style. The original cast was made so much more realistic. Like they looked like every day people and not like they just spent time with a stylist and in make-up and hair getting ready. How many actual people when doing job interviews and going to work have the time and energy to do a full blow out and stuff. In the UK Roy looked like a slob who didn't care or lacked self awareness, Jen looked like an everyday woman just doing her best. It was how real yet unreal these characters were navigating these comedic real yet unreal situations that made it gold. It wasn't just the script, it wasn't just the characters and setting and stuff, it was everything working together to make gold and when you lack one of those ingredients the others are just not enough to hold it up.

We only needed a season 1 with it ending that machines go out into the world! What ended up happening was the other seasons try to pack in so much world building in such a short amount of time that the show became a convoluted mess.
