Tunnels and caves at Shark's Cove
Three of our last five videos have featured Shark's Cove. I guess that's how much we love it there (and recently the ocean conditions have been better up there than some of our other spots). This time we went up specifically to explore the caves, tunnels and chasms that make it such a fun spot. While there we saw honu, of course, but also plenty of surgeonfish, butterflyfish, and even a mermaid!

More reef fish of Kahe Point
zhlédnutí 23Před měsícem
It's been awhile since we set out from Electric Beach (Kahe Point) to check out the reef fish, so we were excited for the chance to enjoy the warm, clear waters there and see a bunch of our favorite fish. Some of the highlights of this visit included one little honu, a bunch of butterfly fish, surgeon fish and even a few parrot fish. Plus a lot more!
Turtles and titan scorpionfish at Shark's Cove
zhlédnutí 72Před měsícem
We went back up to one of our favorite spots, Shark's Cove on the North Shore - first time for Joey, who is with us for her summer break from college.Of course we saw the school of āholehole (Hawaiian flagtails) that likes to swim up there, and we also saw at least four honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles), and the biggest scorpionfish we've ever seen!
Snorkeling in Shark's Cove
zhlédnutí 214Před 3 měsíci
It's been too long since we've been able to swim with the fishes! The water can be rough in Hawaiʻi in the winter - especially on the North Shore - so we were excited for the chance to swim at Shark's Cove in Pūpūkea this past weekend. We saw a big school of āholehole (Hawaiian flagtails) that likes to hide in the often turbulent waters here, and we also saw a nūnū (trumpetfish) hiding among th...
Whale watching (and snorkeling) in Waiʻanae
zhlédnutí 85Před 6 měsíci
Winter is humpback whale season in Hawaiʻi and we recently sailed out with Dolphin Excursions to get a peek at these majestic animals. We probably saw about a half a dozen including a very energetic calf. We also snorkeled for a bit where we swam with a Hawaiian green sea turtle (honu) and a few cornetfish and trumpetfish (both called ʻnūnū) and of course many more!
Flying around Salem, Oregon
zhlédnutí 29Před 7 měsíci
We spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Salem, Oregon, visiting family. I was able to take the drone out with my brother-in-law Levi on a couple of chilly (for me) mornings. We got to fly over dormant blueberry fields, fog rising over the Willamette River, beautiful Minto-Brown Island Park, and we caught the sunrise over the region with a view of Mt. Hood.
Octopus (and more reef fish) at Kōʻolina
zhlédnutí 30Před 8 měsíci
We got to spend some time with a tako in on of the Kōʻolina lagoons recently. Some of the other fish we saw included Hawaiian flagtails, yellowfin goatfish, Moorish idols, Hawaiian Dascyllus, and more!
Manta ray (and more reef fish) at Shark’s Cove
zhlédnutí 143Před rokem
While swimming offshore recently we were lucky enough to be be able to watch a manta ray having lunch! It was an awesome experience that we didn’t expect. We also saw a bunch of other cool stuff, and we’ve tried to identify many of the fish featured in this video, both in Hawaiian and English, so you can use this as a fish ID guide for Hawaiian reef fish. Some of those fish include Hawaiian fla...
Snorkeling Kahe Point
zhlédnutí 40Před rokem
With family visiting, we took a catamaran cruise up to Kahe Point to swim with some of our favorite fish neighbors. We saw a few that we hadn't seen before, including what looked like a lionfish, and a spotted reef crab. We also caught a brief glimpse of a turtle who was moving more like a hare than a tortoise!
North Shore Shark Adventure

We had a great outing with North Shore Shark Adventures where we got to swim with a bunch of amazing Galapagos sharks! Just a quick edit using my GoPro Quik app.

Nice. Did you know there is Hawaiian fish with a longer name than the Humuhumunukunuku'apua? Yep. the Lauwiliwilinukunukuoioi! -You can win a beer with this secret information.
Hey Nate, loving your channel. What are you using for your under water video?
Nice job!
Thank you so much. We bought a house in lower Makakilo around 1975. And I would take my 7-year-old and his friend on hikes there. Very cool places. That square hole is about 4ft across I think. It was always wet in there. Standing water. It's as dry as a bone there. Everyone refers to it as the desert. Windy and dry on that end of the island. Million dollar views. The house is still in the family.
So lucky!!!!!
Your videos are fabulous.
That's the one behind near where I live that one over looks koalina and that one you have to cross through someone's yard to get access. I haven't been there since I was a kid back then it wasn't so bad getting there now there's fences and everything
Great video and glad you guys had an awesome flying experience with us, Aloha
We had a great time, thanks again, and thanks for the comment!
One of the best videos a customer has ever made! Really sums up exactly how our introductory flights go. WHAT GREAT STUDENTS YOU BOTH WERE!!! Mahalo nui for spending your morning with Team Paradise Air!
Thanks, Denise! It was a great experience!
Dang! I was really enjoying the vid until things went haywire. Glad you got it back in one, scuffed up, piece.....
Thanks! I was enjoying the flight until it went haywire haha
Best way to get on the trail?
Best way to get on the trail?
Unfortunately it's on private land. There are ways to access it from local neighborhoods (I think you can find some on AllTrails), but there are no clear trailheads.
Hey Nathan you sould see the hills now ,even your thumb nail pic is all gone thanks for firing me up
Hi I’m driving through here next week and would like to spend the night. Could you share where you found that great camping site? Looks beautiful. Were there lots of similar places to camp or was this a pretty difficult place to find?
Hi, sorry for the slow reply. Here's a link to that campsite. Enjoy! freeroam.app/campground/uinta-river-overlook
