Cool video. I didn't know koala existed, I just bought it, itl make sampling from my phone very easy, il use it for my other samplers too thanks for that. Anyways I just got this sampler, it's very confusing to me. I've been making beats for about 20 something years and I learned on the EPS 16, then the moc 2k, then the mpc 500 so I'm very used to Old School methods. But man this machine is very confusing. Maybe you can explain to me simply how do I start a new project without erasing all of the internal sounds? The manual has been no help and no one on CZcams has explained it unless I missed it. I'm cautious because they seem to have made it very easy to ruin all the internal patterns and sounds and I looked up how to get it back onto the sampler and it requires so many steps on the computer and I bought this device to avoid using a computer. If you can help me out man that'd be awesome dude I appreciate it , also thanks for introducing me to koala I'm gonna be using it alot

have you trieed doing your drums at 24khz with 12-bit for that sp1200 sound and the samples at 12khz with 12bit for a warm melody?

Hello, nice tutorial. Because of this video I was able to make it on my cell phone... I took a print of the image. I renamed it to bg.png and placed it in the "files" folder in the koala folder directory with a file browser. It just worked... Thank you!

Hi is it possible to sync the tascam model 24 with the Mpc x in standalone mode using model 24 as a usb interface mixer & record in sync to the SD card in the tascam as well as using the main out mixer-tracks 23&24 to re sample in the akai sampler? I think the tascam sends MTC but has to be the master. I’m wondering how will the tempo be set if the mpc is a slave. just want to checkout before I buy the desk, Thanks

i keep seeing people say how hard it is to learn these Liven instruments. Its not any harder than an Elektron from what im seeing on CZcams. these really feel like a cousin to the more basic Elektron boxes like model samples and model cycles.

I’m enjoying this old school type machine I enjoy the limitation it’s showing me to use what I got … I used to have so many pieces of equipment now I have smpltrek,polyend tracker … and this o have been spending so much time having fun with this lo fi 12

Thanks for sharing this video! It’s super helpful in understanding the unique workflow that the lofi-12 has. I ordered the lofi-6 and received it in the mail today. I think for the price and how powerful and gritty this drum machine (and the lofi-6) is you can’t beat it. I hope you continue to bang out some more tutorials. Peace

Nice man! Can I plug the MPC One into my computer via USB and sample tracks from Music played on my computer? Let's say there's a song I'm playing on Amazon Music and want to grab 2 seconds of it. Can I output this song to the MPC One via USB and grab the 2 seconds I need? Thank you.

I have a question as I’m on the fence about which mixer is appropriate for my needs, since I’m new to mixing…go easy on me ..lol. 1. ) 16 instrument tracks out of my Yamaha motif 6 keyboard 2.) afterwards, add 3 to 4 tracks vocals Can I accomplish all 16 tracks +3 or four tracks of vocals.with a Tascam, Model 12 or do I need to get to 24? Why didn’t you consider the model 12 versus the 24?

There is no way to listen to the Air compressor or the Bus compressor or any other effect on insert while sampling back the stereo Mix into the MPC. I have tried monitor IN but nothing, signal always dry. Bus compressor should be always activated while mixing before recording back. Using the bus compressor after recording it's not the same. Any idea about how to solve this annoying issue?

Hey what's up. I'm Ina similar boat trying to get everything back into the mpc. I'm running mpc live 2. Mackie Pro FX12 v3. Yamaha motif and a microkorg s. Getting it all to work is a task for sure. I'm having issues with recording my synths. Any advice?

This may seem like a dumb question, but what usb cable are you using? I cannot find a type b to type b 3.0 usb cable...

That’s no problem with the Audio time limit they give, even though I expected more time. I’ll just speed up the Sample before I save it to Wav and then I’ll slow it down in the Vancouver player…..Thanks for the tip.
