Ok.watched this vid twice. When this thing is drawing 9.5 amps, the wattage is closer to 1100 watts--- not 800 assuming close to 1PF. I think the wattmeter is wrong. What i would like to know, if this inverter unit is running flat-out (max cooling) and not turning off, it looks like it is about the same wattage as a standard conventional window unit of a seer about 12ish. It looks like the efficien cy gain is because it is essentially a variable ac unit, soft start and no spikes etc. Did you ever check the outlet air temp? Overall, an informative video. TY

These are the best window type AC units at the moment. Period. Wish they would add heat function since everything is there except a reversing valve. I finally replaced mine with some 12k R32 refrigerant mini splits. In cooling mode, they consume between 140 and 1000 watts. And it's got to be over 100 outside to hit the 1000 watts. Very interesting logic regarding the cooling power on any inverter system, whether window unit or mini split.

Most consumer air conditioners are fine to about 115F ambient at which point they begin to de-rate significantly....and will continue operating with cooling capacity until 135F. After that it's likely the system will trip on high temperature or high head pressure depending on the safety switches that the unit is equipped.

We have a hisense 12000 btu unit that is starting to shut off when using the air conditioner when its in the three digits. But when we use our fan it doesn't shut off. Also I notice if its under three digits its fine to.

so basically pre cool the room on high for one hour. That unit should have app control. Then when you game put it on eco low

I purchased one 12000-BTU for me and a year later one for my son. Both units stopped working after two years. Midea customer service didn't offer any help. I never heard that a brand new ac last two years only. I had to throw both in the garbage at a loss of $1000.00

Owned an 05 and absolutely loved it. Now own an 08 and its so fun. (Manual).

thank you for this! i also tried the weatherstripping wrap with gorilla tape and i am much happier with it. im thinking about what to do when i take it in for service though since it is noticeably quieter. i dont want to upset the service center techs or draw attention. i might get an OEM speaker to swap in when i take the vehicle in for service calls. not sure. thank you again!

😂😂😂Guys energy don't just come from no where. If you need to cool a 100 degree room, your a/c will need more power. If your a/c can't draw out 1100 watts then it might be broken.

I purchased a 12K BTU for a 400 sq ft room, we have central air and are elec. cost between 33 Cents a KWH to 75 cents KWH, between and 4pm and 9 pm the elec. is really expensive, I run the Midea after the central AC has cooled down the house, and then I turn the central AC up to 80 degrees, the Midea does most of the medium lifting. It is really nice when the TV is on, it is very quite, with central AC on, the tv must be turned up to 23, with the Midea around 9. Our summers are 95 to 115 low humidity around 33. First month using it, I wonder how the elec. bill will work out. Right now we are in a heat wave.

My wife and I have owned a number of generation one and two xBs. Every single one of them ran great. We regretted getting rid of the old 04. We had an 08 which was a version two that had a few things we didn’t like that they straightened out in later years. Our main cars for a decade have been a 13 and 14 version two. They have all been automatic transmission, which is our preference, but we raised our family would ask Barry’s. And couldn’t be happier. In fact, by 2014 XB is still a blast to drive and own 10 years down the line. After 25 years of American cars exploding in my face, that has been a joy. And the only sticker I ever put on it was a Bernie for President sticker, but I still don’t have the heart to scrape off. If you ask me, the two versions were different enough to actually be two separate models each with their own validity.

Informative stuff! I just got the 8000 for a 200sq/ft office here in the Phoenix area - all Summer the temps are above 105 and regularly hit 116. I only plan to run it for 3 hours each day on an ecoflow generator (getting 3k+ WPH) during the worst of the day (between 3pm-6pm) while turning off the central air - so it will be a very interesting test to see how it handles things! Thoughts?

Over the past 24 years i have gone through 4 of these watches. I have learned the hard way NOT to ever separate the layers of the movement! Instead, when you go to change the battery, all you need to do is unhook the battery clip. Leave the movement in the case. Release the battery hold-down clip, slide the battery out, give it a slight push from the back and it comes out easily. Then put the new battery in and clip down the latch that holds it in. Then do an AC clear. I used a 1 foot long piece of #24 gauge wire to poke down in the AC hole while touching the other end of the wire to the battery plus side. Did this for both AC holes because I am not sure which one works. Got the watch running again. Good so far. The spring came out and I was only able to put it back upside down with the wire tang on top but it works ok that way, and the little piezo buzzer thingy still makes noise. The electroluminescent light works again with the new battery. Picked up the battery on Ebay for $1.36 total and it arrived 4 days later. Now after watch #4, I have finally learned how to properly change battery in a Casio A168 watch. DO NOT SEPARATE THE LAYERS OF THE WORKS. Use battery clip only. Leave the works in the case. Do an AC clear. Good to go. 😁

I don't like new air conditioners but these with the inverter technology and a separate fan motor for the condenser outside versus the indoor motor is a genius idea for a window air conditioner and having it be an inverter should make them Superior to the traditional on off units I bought an 8 and a 12 and I put them both on individual outlet surge protectors and I run them off of my hotspot for control with the app.

Maximum power draw also depends on outside temperature. The hotter it is outside the higher the refrigerant pressure required and harder the compressor must run for equivalent btu transfer. BTU transfer is dependent on refrigerant mass flow rate. The higher the compression ratio on compressor input/output, the less refrigerant mass flow for given electrical power drawn by compressor. Higher outside to inside temperature deltas means higher compression ratio on compressor. Other factor is how much of the btu transfer energy is going into condensing humidity of inside air to water condensate. The more water condensed due to inside humidity, the less btu's available for cooling inside air. Slowing down inside blower speed increases water condensation (humidity reduction) at the expense of less air cooling.

ECO mode just means that the fan cycles on and off instead of constant on. Does not change compressor duty cycle. On other Midea/Toshiba/Whynter models it may be labeled Fan-Continuous on/off

the 12000btu is 1140 watts, the 10000btu is about 890 watts. actual usage seems very close to this.

Not bad efficiency, but that's on ECO mode. We'll have to see it again in ECO mode off. My Mitsubishi mini split can do 9000-ish BTU at around 800-850W while boosting to 12000-ish BTU@1.1kW (~40 degC outside)

I seem to have a working unit because it does function like an ac. It was 85 after I installed it, and when it turned on, it was running full blast until it hit the setpoint and it stabilized

I have the 8000 BTU unit. The temperature in my backyard hit 104.7 last week. I keep mine in auto mode set at 70°. As of June 23rd my unit has used 77.9 kilowatt hours for the month of June. I don't think it's ever gone above 700 w. The house is always nice and cool and comfortable.

900 watts is what a coffee pot uses...

Midea customer service is the worst. After a month of haggling, they denied warranty reimbursement on a new unit with 8 hours on it.
