Behind the Scenes of "James Bond 007 - No Time To Die": Bond's graveyard film set in Matera
On the morning of September 14, 2019, I sneaked into the well-guarded graveyard film set for "No Time to Die" in Matera. An unbelievable experience!
The day before I was able to watch the filming from a great distance from Matera. I saw the big main explosion from Vesper's grave live, but unfortunately not filmed it. Later there was at least one small explosion at the grave, as seen at the end of the video at 3:22.
The filming location is on the east side of the canyon at 40.67096, 16.6161.

On 15th of January 2015 they filmed a part of the Q chase scene with Ben Whishaw in the historic part of Obertilliach/Austria. But finally this scene was deleted and not in the Spectre movie! I understood from Matera locals they used BMW engines and/or chassis in the DB5 car for optimal performance?
The IMAX camera weights more that the Aston Martin lol
I have been in a much simpler version of that rig, where the actors actually drove, with lights and cameras hanging out the sides, on narrow, live public roads. That was the old days! Oh and it was getting dark/rush hour btw. It was a worry. Still, the level of skill here is on another planet. To drive anything that wide repeatedly through those narrow streets takes more than ability. It has to be racing-driver-like focus I think, plus there are many technicalities to work to.

So many takes till the sunset for only a 5 seconds scene in the movie 😅 I believe they ended up using the one at 5:24 minus the sounds of the bell in the background of course, nicely edited out.

Nice, but how is it that the Craig movies are so expensive to make when they have the least action of the franchise? There have been much bigger and epic action scenes than this, like a tank chase destroying a few city blocks in Goldeneye. Those action set pieces would be more expensive and complex than this I'm sure. This is just a motorcycle/car chase sequence, been done a million times in literally every action movie.
They did not use taking and carrying luggage out of the car...In the end, it's not the two guys who carry the luggage, but their older colleague who greets the couple. :)
Now I want to go and see the movie again and see what they finally used since I have seen so many takes of this scene, lol.
