Evening Geoff, I've never camped in the bowl, there are a few wee spots to camp, you are right, alot of boggy ground also ( a bit of a amphitheatre feeling)

@@colin7096 hi Colin, it definitely felt a bit like autumn/winter when that wind kicked up but it’s surprising how warm you can get when your back in the tent. The wind definitely sounds so different when your on the hills. Thank you for watching 👍

@@ashleyjarnold Hi Ashley, thank you for that, the camp was a good one, sometimes we need a little rain to test ourselves. The food wasn’t the worst to be fair, it does look like slop but 😂. Stephen loves taking the photos at night, he’s been pineing for some star photography lately but no joy.

@@cowalexplorer Thank you mate very much appreciated 👍. That tent is 2.9kg, heavy enough so it only comes out on the short journeys but well worth it for the space it provides. The clouds kept coming and going all night, it gave off moody vibes but unfortunately no sunrise or sunset 🌅.

@@BestlifeWildCampingBushcraft Thank you mate. Yea it’s a nice pitch and if you got some good weather it would be perfect for sunrise and sunset. The ration pack was £20 but it comes in a box, that was probably only half of the box I had brought with me.

@@jamesoutandaboutn.i227 cheers James. It was definitely moody 😂, if it was any stronger winds you could be mistaking it was a November morning not July 😂. There looked to be a nice stone beach at the bottom of Larrybane but I never got that far down.

My advice would be to do the hike we done but on the way back down do as much of the st Kevin’s trail as possible, we stumbled across it on the way back down but missed half of it, you get some amazing views down into glendalough from there. @@ashleyjarnold No problem Ashley 👍. Yea I thought £15.50 was a bit much but it doesn’t seem to turn people away. Heights turn my stomach, my legs just go from me, I could just freeze sometimes. I was going to call into the cafe but unfortunately I was craving a fry and they didn’t do them so just headed back into town, it’s a lovely wee place. @@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors We are all different!! Andrea has no problem with heights, I drag her away from the edges!! The Mournes are fairly safe, but the Lake District has a number of hairy spots that you need to know what you are doing. Crib Goch in snowdonia is on another level, worth watching some day. Ashley

@@robertcinnamond3595 hi Chuckie, cheers for the message. Depending on how far you’s are looking to go into the Mournes but I’d recommend in around hares gap, an hour from the car but you still pitch up for the night and explore Bearnagh or Slievenaglogh.
