It was an absolutely cracking morning☀The Devil's Coach Road is definitely doable and worth doing at least once👍 That central part of the Mournes with Beg, Cove and Lamagan is one of the best I think. Lovely views from the summit of Slieve Lamagan over the rest of the Mournes.
It definitely was a cracker morning Gerry, so much we had thought of maybe doing Binnian as well. Yea I really enjoy the central mournes as well, especially down in the valley parts looking up at the peaks. But it was nice to do Lamagan on a sunny day, definitely great views. Cheers for watching 👍
Stunning views.
Thank you Thomas. It was nice to be out in the sun finally 👍
Superb hike and video, Geoff, well done. James and I were up there last week, video out soon, but we did the same 3 peaks from Trassey mostly in the wind and rain. We stood above the Devil's Coachroad and thought the summit of Slieve Beg was the rock above it so we went up there in the mist not knowing the steep falls on all sides! Ignorance was bliss. Because of the wind, the route you took up Cove Mountain looked hairy so we skirted to the right and took the easy path up. Lamigan is not my favourite mountain either probably because of the descent that has no path. However, like you we got the amazing 360 views. We then went down to Ben Crom Dam, intending to climb Ben Crom Mountain as well, but couldn't find a trail at all to headed past Doan through a swamp, then past the gap between Meelmore and Bernagh and back to car - 13 miles!!! Sorry for the long note but I always say that the Mournes is the hardest mountain walking we experience, mainly due to the lack of proper paths - they are proper hard core!! We're off to Wales next week for more adventures. Regards, Ashley
Thank you for Watching and commenting. That would have been some walk yous done alright. Funny we where actually talking about the trails in the mournes compared to ones in England, over there they all seem well pathed out but here like you say sometimes you could be going through the bogs. We have toyed with Ben crom mountain this weekend but it’s not giving great weather for that route so it’s back to the drawing board. Yes I heard that yous are for Wales I really look forward to seeing that plus the next video in the mournes 👍.
Good going lads great route that way looks like a nice day weather held up.
A great morning out Adrian. Hopefully that’s the start of the clearer days now 👍
Some hike that mate !! Beautiful morning for you beats the clag eh. That devils coach looked sketchy like 😮..... just on catch up here .ate loved that one ATB Simon
Definitely a great morning out Simon, cheers for watching. Yea that devils coach road looks mad but hopefully I’ll get up it soon. It definitely does beat the clag 😂
Great to watch the video mate. We will see you up there again soon.
Thank you for watching Colin, nice to see yous up there on Saturday. A massive well done for conquering the coach road. That was a pretty long hike yous done 👍. Yes definitely I’m sure we will see you up there again. All the best ⛰️
What a day yeahs got. Great footage with the drone. Need to get bck up again myself.
It was great to get the drone back out again it’s been a while, it just adds something else to the video. Definitely worth it on a good day Andrew, Cheers for watching 👍.
Great video Geoff, brilliant drone footage from the top of Lamagan. Devil's Coachroad is a tight climb, did it years ago but you guys could do it no problem.
Thank you very much. It was a perfect day to get the drone out at long last and the first time we have had views on Lamagan. I think we will tackle the coach road the next time we are over that way. Thank you for watching 👍.
Nice one.
Thank you for watching and commenting, very much appreciated 👍
Love that route in the mournes, has so much to offer. Brilliant day you had for it! We chickened out of doing the coach road 1st time but have done it a few times since. Theres a gully you can climb up the side of Cove, we find it a bit more sketchy than DCR but fun none the less. Cove cave makes a lovely spot for brakfast too. Keep up the good work, maybe see you out there some day!
Yea I definitely enjoy the central Mournes and even in the valleys looking up at the peaks. The DCR is doable and hopefully the next time that way we will get up it. I did notice that gully on cove and too be fair it looks worse. Hopefully could get a camp up that way and get a bit of breakfast on cove. Cheers for watching its much appreciated 👍.
Great video my friend.
Thank so much for watching, it’s very much appreciated 👍
This looks absolutely amazing friend, your filming and storytelling is always professional!
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a great comment. I see you have a few new videos uploaded, I will watch these over the weekend, you have a great channel 👍.
I’m with you regarding DCR, wouldn’t catch me next to near it. 😵💫
Thank you for watching 👍. I do think it’s doable but it will take another great morning for me to give it ago. But looking down the gully from the top is very scary indeed.
Great video mate
Cheers for watching Joe, we’ll get back out soon mate 👍
You got a great day for it. Nice video mate
Cheers James, yea it was a belter day out, probably could have spent more time up there that day. I hope you had a good weekend away mate 👍
@geoffstravels yea was good mate . Long drive back tho ha
Nice wee hike m8 . Ty for the shout out 👍, we done the devils coach road a while back , easy enough though after we got over cove we seen lamagan and my knees were screaming no lol . Had to skirt round the bottom back as no way we were getting over that 😂😂
No problem Dave. Yea it was a long enough hike but very enjoyable especially in a great day and it’s not normally we get a great day 😂. Thank you for watching 👍
Percy’s pish?😂😂😂😂
Hahaha, I don’t know why I said it like that 😂
@@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors have you been into the cave that’s there?
@@Simon_J_Hodge_Outdoors no not up there we did do cove caves on another day. Could you get a tent on top of Percy bysshe?
@@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors the cave in Percy is great. Check out @StephenJReid for his attempt at sleeping in it. Not sure the ground above it is flat enough to pitch on. Brilliant camping down the at the river in the valley if you wanted somewhere close to it
