Tempest 2000 (Atari Jaguar) 4K Capture Test (2nd Attempt)
Attempting another round of adjustments to my capture for retro systems. My goal is to capture very high quality video, scale it to 4K while keeping the aspect ratio correct. Please let me know what you think.

That's soo cute!!🎉❤
prices now are ridiculous
Lucky we are, we can buy some NCI and Atomik repro for about 250$ each games... and there are excellent copy !! Original games is too high for any purchase right now, it's not serious ..
i bought a terraonion neomvs sd, which is also not cheap, but gives me access to all the games.
@@teknohed yes NeoSd Pro is fine... i choose MVS shockbox for my favorite one + Orthors and 161in1 for the rest
Some of those increases are ridiculous. 8 bucks to hundreds of dollars is nuts. Kinda makes one not want to bother with the addon.
certainly not the easiest to collect for that is sure.
What's with the preview screen being different??
Dickstroy them!!!
why did I dismantle every single black armory and opulent gun in 2018???
this is the only one i kept, i have always loved how it felt and would just take it out of random strikes or control playlist. i can’t believe the brought back so many sunset guns and didn’t really bring back a great auto rifle.
Either your team mate is a toxic chile, or the other team was being toxic and he was just amplifying the toxicity
he was a random so i honestly have no idea.
Good grief. Collecting today is impossible. I was lucky enough to grow up when this stuff NIB old stock was dirt cheap on eBay so I amassed a huge collection of Sega stuff, but there's no way I could do it today with these prices. Insane.
yeah, it is pretty nuts how much some of these games go for now a days.
Kuzna encounter its about 50k quote unquote but if you go to the Neo store this dude named Sean has it for $300,000 which I think is insane 🕹🎮😀👍🏾😂🤣
that is truly nuts. like you could buy a house, or a video game!
@@teknohed this is for the US version only, the Jap version could be found for less than 10.000$
Great series!
thank you!
I am pretty sure to have had that platform during my childhood into the 80s , but the console was branded Atari . Probably, Atari was in charge of the distribution here in Italy.
A Rolan's Curse 2 cart is currently valued at $125 USD on pricecharting.
Please tell me where I can get get Metal Slug 1 AES for $3400 and I'll buy it today. These prices are waaaay off.
all taken from the price guide of game dude in LA, so i would start there. ;)
Lmao we beat it with a minute left and we were stressing just as much. I felt that sigh of relief when you finished it through my phone🤣
what about superfamicom games? , Thraccia 776 fire emblem is 500DLS for a complete copy.
I was looking at US games as that is the country i live in. I would love to do some Japanese price videos too but i would need to find a good source of 20 year old japanese prices.
Very much appreciated
Good stuff man 🔥
Two crude dudes is a great beat em up no body talks about
I will fire it up and take a look.
Was Crossed Swords 2 fun? It looks fun. Too bad about the name, though.
crossed swords is great. a bit cheap, but that is the arcade DNA. plays a lot like the super spy but with swords and rat men instead of knives and terrorists.
Nice set up you had there
This is why I have the mega everdrive pro for my model 1 genesis and it supports sega cd without the actual attachment and I’ve never owned a Sega cd and it gives me a chance to experience these rare expensive titles for free without investing money in them and takes up less space and don’t have to worry about clutters especially since I have a lots of retro consoles and they all use flash carts and odes and I’m happy.
Nice video was expecting to see the Agro Soar Australian Exclusive dmg game.
The price guides i was using are from the US, so likely an Australian exclusive wouldn’t show up, Sorry to be a loud American on that one.
I had a Jaguar and TG16 when they went clearance and you could turn $100 into a system and a pretty decent library of games. I don't ever remember the 3DO hitting those levels. This is a fun tour of all the weird side trends in 90s game design.
that is what i love about the 3DO. it is a very specific time in video games trapped in amber. a time that is gone now, but we have weird games like johnny bazookatone and Neuro Dancer to remind us of it.
Killing Time is the best 3DO game. I'd say Hell is the second. I currently have 61 3DO games in long boxes. I guess they're worth quite a bit now.
that is awesome. killing time is great, i have a copy, but it is in a normal jewel case. never played hell, will track it down!
Agreed. Just an fyi. They released a PC version a few years ago. In case you want an additional playing method
I didn’t spend all that time replacing the capacitors and CD drive in my FZ-10 to play it on PC. ;)
@@teknohed for sure. I have the 3DO version also. The PC version is for that additional fix.
Ah, the legendary AES. The gold standard for videogame collecting.
Love this system, thanks
what’s your must play 3DO games? for me it is super wing commander , star control 2, and cannon fodder.
Super Cobra is the followup to Scramble, not the other way around
I am honestly kinda shocked no one pointed that out until now. thanks for the clarification.
No real shockers in the increase list. I would have expected to see Spiritual Warfare in the list though. Assuming that is because it was sega authorized.
It doesn’t look like GameDude have Spiritual Warfare listed on their price guides, it is possible they didn’t carry wisdom tree games.
Tip for Crusader of Centy: Go for the European / Pal Release if you want to play it, it's named "Soleil" and is way cheaper. Around 50€ or so.
Good luck getting an English version CIB for 50 euros!
Sewer Shark's Full Motion Video was awesome!
I genuinely loved sewer shark. I don’t know how well it aged, but as a kid i felt like video games would never be more real looking!
I look forward to your 3DO video, I love that system. Sadly I never owned a Neo Geo, but the Pocket Color is my favorite handheld and I have a Neo Geo X for fun.
i am eventually going to do pocket color as well that is a fantastic system. i am a sega fan boi so gene gear will always be my number 1, but NGPC is #2. 3DO is going to be interesting, a lot of the expensive “games” are just adult VCDs, so i will likely just group all those together so i can highlight other oddities like johnny bazookatone and cyberdillo!
I have a soft spot for 3 Ninjas. My buddy and I would play it and crack up as kids as the grandpa popping up to egg us on in FMV.
I think that childhood nostalgia is the only excuse for liking it. that’s how i feel about the atari 5200. everyone hates it but it was my first game system so it will always be one of my favorites no matter how bad the controllers are.
I tried going through Popful recently, it was so hard I ended up stopping. One game I regret not beating. I guess I should play the easier Japanese version
I wonder if @teknohed has finished it? He said it was his favorite Sega CD game.
I have not, it is brutally hard, i am about half way across the map, on the forth boss or so.
I also don’t want to finish it as it will mean one less sega CD game out there to play.
Man I owned about half of those games back in the day
I owned shining force, and lunar 1 and 2, but that was about it. I bought popful mail and snatcher way later for way too much money.
Very cool! Watching now = )
I had no idea that Terminator on Sega CD was amazing. Immediately sought out a play through video on that one after discovering in your vid. Thanks!
I am curious if it would hold up for a full play through, i had a good time capturing the footage.
So many legendary games for such a short lifespan. It's such a shame that Sega couldn't figure out how to right the ship after the acrimony between the American and Japanese divisions.
Also if any other Sega CD folks remember an SRPG with vampires, werewolves, and demons fighting you'll help a weird memory hole I can't seem to track down. I only rented it once and have never been able to remember the name.
@@Chompingbits dark wizard maybe?
@teknohed I think that totally is it. Now to go load that on my Ambernic
@@Chompingbits as it happens I sell a retrotek T shirt with Krystal from Dark Wizard: store.streamelements.com/teknohed/product/6017302bb70133001bec2db3
Most the high priced nes games suck tbh lol i can go without those in my collection lol i collect to play the games not to look at like an idiot
I can’t say i disagree, any who is paying these prices for those hanna barbera games in particular is a real moron. Little samson is a fun game, but not thousands of dollars good.
Finally someone who agrees with me on little samson. Its a decent game but not worth what ppl want. Plus its not that hard to find if ya do want a copy. So ill never understand why its so expensive
@@jarredkrum9894 i saw that about little samson, but i also paid 700 bucks for snatcher on sega CD, so i am not immune to nostalgia. realistically speaking there isn’t a game in the world with that much unless you have some sort of sentimental attachment to it . (or have more money than sense) that’s collecting though it isn’t really about making rational decisions
Hey i got games that go for several hundred but ill still play em. But ill agree theres games if i was rich id spend the money to buy and play 🤷🏻♂️. I was playing cheetah men 2 other day on an emulator but there is no way in hell id ever spend $5000 on a sealed cib copy of that game cuz the game really sucks🤣its horrible. But its funny to play cuz its so crappy lmao in my opinion a sealed cib copy of that game should be $5 not $5000 🤷🏻♂️
@@jarredkrum9894 oh god cheetah men 2. another great example of a terrible terrible “game” that is crazy expensive due to rarity.
I’ve seen Chrono trigger a few different times in game stores and it always had a price tag of 250-300
Chrono trigger prices are getting up there for sure.
DUMB ASSS
I'm shocked Pocky and Rocky 2 didn't make the cut! Wonder what its worth?😂
The Lynx has an 8 bit 6502 based CPU, and the system has an 8 bit data bus. It has 4 bit audio. What are you talking about? 😂
The “suzy” video chip was a 16-bit VLSI custom CMOS chip running at 16 MHz.
@@teknohedThat’s not what you said exactly though is it? Suzy isn’t the only VLSI either an internal 16 bit bus, but that hardly makes a 16 bit system.
@@BrekMartin I would not expect to have to tell an Atari fan to “do the math” but here we are.
Odd that Mega Man X3 isn’t on this list
I had a similar thing happen on my Neo Geo list. because i am looking at value change over time rather than just “most expensive” there are a few items that have just always been expensive and so their percentage change over 20 years is low. At some point i am going to do a “rare and expensive” list that will focus on titles that have always been sought out.
@@teknohed PriceCharting shows loose X3 carts sold for $64 in Dec 2006, and it's now at $270 (actually if you look on ebay they're around $300 and I suspect the 270 is for lower quality carts but we'll go with 270 for the math). That's an increase of ~420%, which should put it somewhere around #18 on your list. I'd *assume* the price in 2004 would be slightly lower so perhaps even more percentage increase. Anyway, just chatting, doesn't really matter =P. Good video! I enjoy these lists.
@@Mike-B-Jackson you know what? you make a great point, so i went back to my spread sheet for this video and I think in this case the lack of Mega Man X3 is just an error on my part. the SNES data in my sheet seems to be incomplete, missing about 50 games including mega man x3. Looks like I am going to have to make an update to this video. thanks for catching that!
Home of the dankest and weirdest RPGs. Robotrek was an all time fave.
I am not a SNES collector myself, so I am not an expert on the “whys” behind these prices. My understanding is that Hagane is a game that is so rare that some people argue it was only available via rental. So in that case I would suggest that it is supply and demand.
Not being an expert didn't stop you from throwing out a hypothesis or two as to "why" in other vids... it's almost like you're intentionally withholding love from Nintendo games...
But WHY did Hagane jump up in price like that? Analysis, please.
I was thinking where's Magical Chase but then I realized that it was always expensive.
Yeah, I wanted to try to see which games really went up over the last 20 years. I'll probably at some poitn and do one on MOST EXPENSIVE games at some point too. Usually those heavy hitters end up on this list too, but I do miss some games that have just always been crazy pricey and so the increase is only like 10% over time. Are you an Air Zonk Speed Runner?
@@teknohed ok, that makes sense. I just go for points instead of beating the game for speed.
Your prices are way off bro…. Those AES games go for way more …..
These aren’t “my” prices, I needed a source of truth for this video so i used the price guides from game dude. they have been selling games in LA for 30 years, think if they could get more for these games they would. So I think that what may happen is if Game Dude doesn’t have something in stock they don’t update the price, so might be a bit out of date. But that’s the metric I chose, Game Dude in 2004 vs Today: gamedude.com/neogeo.html
Yeah the prices are wayyyyy off. First off AES games rarely sell loose and price charting doesn’t track AES games well. Game Dude works for a 2024 reference but only eBay sold listings could do current prices.
@@ogcib so what you’re telling me is that i should be checking game dude for good deals on AES carts. These videos are so hard to settle on a correct price for, If I use ebay, I get people telling me that only Yahoo Japan is accurate. If I use Price Charting I get people telling me to use ebay. I figured that game dude would be close as it would be in their best interest to be as acurate and make as much of their inventory as they could. But maybe I was wrong. Anyway, for this video specfiically the info comes from Game Dude. In the future maybe I'll make a "top 5 most expensive accourding to ebay" or something.
Apologies, they are good for a 2004 price reference since they were one of the major sellers of AES carts at the time. Look at prices on the Neo Geo Store or even some price list on Neo Kult from a couple years back and that will give you a solid reference point. Neo Geo AES is the hardest system to track in all of retro gaming. I use to track the prices myself for years and use to help out on Game Value Now when it was around with AES prices.
@@ogcib thanks dude. i appreciate the insights. i have an MVS and the carts i have are picked up at flea markets and stuff. before making this video i never paid much attention to AES as I don’t have that system. But I appreciate you sharing this with me.
where do you see those prices? it's veru unaccurate if you check ebay sales for example.
These prices are all taken from price lists published by game dude (a local game store in LA). I did a previous series that used price charting and ebay for prices and was told over and over that THAT was inaccurate so this time i used price lists of an actual store currently selling games. i have linked the historical price lists in the description and you can see current guides at gamedude.com.
Game prices fluctuate greatly depending upon where you go buying games, persay like one country to another, good point tho
