Do you know why when I mute a channel on the xr18 it also mutes the channel on the DN4816? I switched the outputs to "input" instead of "input+mute"

I just leave everything at User In and User Out for all channels. In that case i don't have to double check for any routing-related things. So in case i have to edit the routing i know exactly that my go-to window is either User In or User Out. The possibilities are great but in my opinion Behringer kinda overcomplicates stuff. Why not grey out stuff that is already connected via UserIn/Out in the other tabs / windows? 😞

Hi Daniel, thank you in advance for your videos. Do you know how to change the number of lanes per layer? At the moment I'm editing a layout my way, but it appears on the 1st layer from channels 1 to 24 and on the 2nd layer from 25 to 32, and I would like to change it to 16 channels on each layer. thanks

Disagree about unshielded cables! It's a craps shoot, always use them! I work at a venue that's 173 years old (old for California!). It's had some changes to the electrical over the years, let me tell you, which means A LOT of RF noise (leave the single coil pickups at home!). Someone brought their own monitor rig one night, and we struggled for like 45 minutes trying to isolate some digital noise. They were sure it was my X32. Then I checked his side over for him, and saw he had an unshielded RJ45... Swapped it out for shielded and PERFECT after that! Just not worth it when shielded Cat5 (or variant) cables can be had cheap in most places!

You're speaking my language about the WTF this was just working 5 minutes ago! Today on my X32, I was playing program music through Aux 1+2 via a bluetooth adapter during set break. I walked away for literally 2 minutes. Heard that the music had stopped WTF! Went back, track was playing on my phone, bluetooth was connected, everything looked exactly perfect... But no audio from Aux 1+2 was going anywhere! Wiggled cables, rebooted the bluetooth, looked at routing (even though I wasn't at the board when it failed!)... Nothing. I moved the bluetooth device to Aux 3+4, and it worked perfectly. WHY???

Any idea why my DN 32 is showing up as a microphone in the audio input device list? And as speakers in the audio output device list? I’m using the same set up M32c and DN16 stage box.

Tried this yesterday with some headphones and a regular mic. Made a huge difference.

I played around on the mix station free version last night. Where's the send on faders? But I did figure it out how to assign channels to a bus on the m32 mix app which wasn't a simple task. Why not a simple button on every channel like on analog? Whatever I did on the m32 mix app, also shows on mix station I have those channels assigned to the busses. It dawned on me. I should of been building the show straight off my m32 live desk, save, export to thumb drive then import it to the m32c. I'm still confused with routing in digital world, such as pre post eq, faders. And I've been configuring this show in the dark with no audio at the moment. I'm waiting on a shock proof rack that is supposed to be delivered today. ✌️ Where do you live? Are you in India?

The dimming explanation was eh...still not clear. It seems the talkback doesn't have the preamp gain(ability) of the regular channel. So, does the dim, also reduce the level of those busses it's being sent to? Or is it only dimming in the headphone/mixing monitor ? Ultimately, if the talkback input doesn't have enough gain to be louder than the band playing, they won't hear you talk.

Can I use AES of a Midas M32 to a Micro Clock MKIII? Currently I use the USB expansion card to my computer. I’m afraid if I switch it out with a ADAT expansion card for wordclock I won’t have a way to have the Midas connect back to the computer via usb.

Wow! Generally these videos cover the exact same thing in the exact same way and frankly I just don't get anything new, but you genuinely helped me to understand My X32 compressor massively.

if the level is getting too loud and it's clipping inside the gate plugin instead of doing wet +5 and dry 0 you can keep the wet slider at 0db and the dry slider at -5db and it will have the same effect but the overall level will be 5db lower so you can compensate for these 5db with a clipper plugin after the gate (threshold -6, ceiling -1)

That's a relief to know. The c should be delivered here this Thursday/tomorrow. I needed something super compact for these ridiculous micro bars. I use aes ebu out from the DL32 into the venue 360. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

I noticed the m32c doesn't have aes ebu out. But the stagebox has it. Will I be able to use the aes ebu out from the digital stage since the m32c rack doesn't have it?

It's total loop gain that we need to control to avoid feedback. That includes microphone transducer gain, pre-amp gain, fader and EQ gains, power amplifier gain, speaker transducer gain and acoustic path gain (loss) from speaker cone to microphone diaphragm. Reducing *any* of these gains will mitigate feedback, but there is no reason to have excessive gain in the path from the mixer to the speaker voice coils, so I take your point and I like your method.
