Sheffield Off-road & Rally R/C Club - ME-OR Regional Round Four - B final 2wd
Saturday 6th July 2024
The mid east regional series traveled north to Sheffield for round 4 with 2wd taking place on the Saturday. The weather was mostly kind to us with only a small shower at the beginning of round 4 and everyone back onto yellows before the end of the round.
The B7 wasn’t as well behaved as I would have hoped for with my best result being a 10th in round. I backed it up with a 14 from round 1 to line up 7th in the B final. From the start the car was off the pace. Maybe the tyres had gone off, but I struggled a lot with the plan to just keep it on its wheels and moving forwards. Some defending was needed from Curtis to keep him at bay, but I started where I finished.

Mid-east regional series ventured to Robin Hood Raceway for round 3 of the 2024 series. First time running the Team Associated B7 and right from the off it was feeling good. I tried the new Schumacher Splitter front tyres and those gave me great front end. Really solid and inspiring to drive. Bingham Model Raceway's BOSS series round 3. Qualifying went well with 3 to count from 4. I managed a 1, 2 and 2 so lined up 2nd on the grid. Well you had Richard in your sights all race and he just sneaked through for that extra victory lap. Interesting to watch a full race at my home track with you (a better driver than me) your lines and real good and consistent. Also good to see your ‘only human’ small errors over the double occasionally and just one ‘on its lid’ moment. Yeah I think I’d made setup changes in the right direction come the final. Certainly closed the gap up! Back again next weekend

Both Paul and myself seemed to have a bit more drive and could make the jump a lot easier than at the regional

Looked like a 50/50 mix of track unpredictability and driver. Certainly I found that way back in the D final, what’s your thoughts?
It didn't help that I had to stand the opposite end of the rostrum to where I stood in qualifying. I was looking across the double before and in the final down onto the top of it. Silly mistakes on my part defo! onto BMR!

Car felt great all day. Those new 13mm shocks made it feel like it floated around the track too 😁 Just silliness in the final really. Good launch mind!
