Newark R/C Car Club - all races. 22/12/2023

Here's all 4 of my races from our Christmas night of racing. This was also round 9 of our winter championship and it's going down to the wire in the last round! We had a Christmas jumper prize. We had Domino's pizza and of course. Great close racing.
Round 1 just after the 4 min mark I think I was in 3rd at the time and I had a bit of a bump knocking the bearing out of the steering rack. I could feel something was off straight away, but carried on since there was less than a minute left. 5th in round.
Round 2 wasn't too bad. I came 3rd in round very close to the back of lewis, less than a second off on the clock.
Round 3 I had a big moment of stopping dead from pretty much full speed. This knocked off my front roll bar. The car was behaving strangely when loaded which was similar to a broken top deck I had a while ago. I carried on, but could only manage 9th in round. It was enough to put my 4th on the grid so still with a good chance.
Final went good. Lewis makes a mistake on lap 1 releasing me. Dan later comes off the track loosing his lips from the car in the process and it's pretty much all over for him from then on. I tried to match Matt's pace early on, but I was having to push a lot and I decided to just keep the car on its wheels and moving forward without taking risks. Brought it home 2nd gaining a further 3 points in the championship.
The winter championship has to be the closest we've ever had. I currently sit in 1st 9 points clear of 2nd place. 2nd to 5th are actually tied all on the same points with the count back tie breaker putting Lewis ahead of the others. Dan Burks my main rival sits a little behind due to a poor round 1, and is the only racer with a chance at the top spot going into round 10. Lisa sits 3 points back in 6th.
