Our 2nd night on the new ETS carpet and once again I was struggling for stability at generally all speeds. The car was quick when it wasn't loosing the rear and I managed to go 3rd in round 1.
My volante tyres still had rings of shiny patches even after 4 runs so I fitted a worn set for round 2, but was even more plagued with an unpredictable car only managing to go 11th.
It was now all down to round 3 to get another good run on the board. I'd made further changed to try and calm the rear down, but unfortunately a heavy bump knocked the bearing out of my steering rack so I had to retire leaving me 8th overall and lining up BQ.
I changed out the steering rack from the other car and decided to leave the Ackerman settings with no washers. I'd previously been running 0.5mm or 1mm when trying to get more front end. In the final starting from pole position it was a clean getaway and the car was transformed. The rear was now under control again! If anything I wanted a but more steering so that's something to work towards next time.
