Yea. Get yer cdl and work for someone else at that rate. Way less stress and more money in yer pocket. Im home daily working 4 12s and I've already done that this year. Local CDL gig is the play man. Logs/fuel/Groceries whatever.

If you are getting paid to haul loads get your Class A CDL and if you’re doing it with your own equipment get your motor carrier authority. Do not play around with the FMCAS.

That's why you need a jump box. Good to have if your battery dies in the middle of nowhere but also to run your aux fuel pump just in case.

The $300 piece of paper is NOT the only thing holding you back. Not everyone has 3k-5k for the insurance to put down right away, and then have to wait 3-6 months for brokers to want to work with you. I think leasing on is a good start, but eventually you would want to get out as soon as you have the money saved to work on your own.

If you haven't done so already, become an S-corporation so you can pay yourself a very low wage and have all other profit taxed at the lower corporate rate. You clearly have the skills that you could do your own quarterly and yearly filings (941, 940 and 1120S) and not hire an accountant to do your taxes.

Let me put this abundantly clear. What you are apportioned for has NOTHING to do with what your trailers axles suspension and brakes can physically handle .

I always used lasso straps but on heavier vehicles or older vehicles I used chains with the correct hooks to fit the frame holes.

Nice job of wasting your time. I will not go from Tampa to Jax, 200 miles, for less then $600 and you go how far for $700. How much time did you invest for $2100? TQL is a very low paying company. King of Freight very slow paying company. Cheap freight is just that CHEAP. The reason these brokers get away with the low pay is the simple fact that you keep hauling it. If you do not get enough money to come out of Miami empty you should not go to Miami.

When attaching the hook end of the ratchet strap…feed the hook down through the space in the trailer then up around the outside edge and hang it on the top lip. This way, if your strap loosens up a bit in transit, the hook is still hanging there. The way you have it, if the strap loosens up a bit, the hook falls and can be pulled up through the gap by the wind and become a flinging piece of steel on a whip the will bang the crap out of a very nice vehicle, or worse.

$550.00 for 300 miles what was the profit on that? I own a junk Removal business and charge 595.00 a full load and make 490.00-500.00 profit and do t drive far. I was also wanting to get into hotshot in California but seems like that’s pretty low for such set up and gas prices.
