I had those exact decoys for 5 years they worked great
Hey man, I’d still call that a successful hunt. I love hiking way back in to get on birds. That’s the funniest part to me, the exploration and adventure.
That looked amazing! Greetings from Norway
Ya, saw the squirrel tacos first time in my life. I cannot imagine how to clean them but looks yammy, though....
This video is pretty helpful but as a Hispanic male I don't like the way you annunciate the word beaner. That's all.
You mean….. carabiner?
Cut pvc at 4ft, a 45 degree angle on one end, 90 on the other, drill a 1/4" hole half inch from the end, keep your baitcast reel with 80lb test rigged with a big ass swivel on the terminal end.if water is shallow, stick it into the mud at an angle. Clip decoys onto your line as you set. Once youre done, pull hard and your anchor comes up, along with all your decoys(a dozen). Once back to the blind, unclip your deeks, then unclip line from your pvc anchor.Nice and compact
Best budget jerk rig hack: old baitcast reel with 80lb test. Anchor with a length of pvc
Hey sir, any chance you revisit this?
If your putting the poles just under the water could add a decoy at the top of each pole which would hide any movement from the poles.
Cool videos, glad I saw the link in your Instagram bio
in stead of cutting the pipes shorter, just stick them into the mud diaginally, also can add a j-hook half way down the pipe to wind the cordage during transport
I have a piece of pvc pipe inside a spring
Generally, if you hear one moving from one area to another, they have a specific strut zone. Peg it in one spot, get it to move, and circle around to where it was. This works really well on old logging roads.
Haha, you probably made the perfect purchases for decoys first. Those decoys are the nut. They re released them a few years ago and people who hunted the originals were paying big bucks for them online. The hens after you wear the paint off them will be the magnet in your spread. Leaving them outside for a year will accomplish this. But I got like 6 boxes of them in case they quit making them again.
what public land is this ? just curious we are heading down this spring chasing birds
😊😊
👌 this is cool I'm gonna try this I'm new to duck hunting
Hey just bought a set was wondering how they actually did and if you still use them
Good video! Gives me an idea to use 2 pvc pipes and have some decoys going left and right with other decoys coming towards me!
You prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Davion Augustus Instablaster ;)
@Ira Marvin Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Ira Marvin it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy! Thanks so much you really help me out :D
@Davion Augustus no problem xD
Between this video an BobbyGuyFilms video I’ve got my jerk rig all set up. Thanks guys!!!
Funny thing, I just found your video AFTER I purchased the exact same decoys and the exact same rigging. LOL . I also found a few good vids on using the same Rustoleum clear coat to help preserve the paint. Anyway, I see the video is a year old and I'm wondering how you made out with these decoys.
Still using these decoys alongside some additional ones I’ve purchased. They’re holding up well to this point. Color is still good, as I was expecting some fading, but they’re still looking great!
@@dayzoff9677 Awesome ! God bless. Have fun and stay safe.
I did the same thing 3 years ago, pawn shop 870 supermag Amazon decals and trash dead ringer sight. The gun and camo is great. Ditch the dead ringer
So this is the guy that parks on top of people on public land..
HNH Outdoors did I miss something?
Did you check to make sure the wings are not on backwards? I made that mistake. There is a left and a right wing. Made a big difference
Cool video
hey man we hunt the same public spot. love to get in touch.
You should do some turkey hunting
That's a good price for a used 870SM, I would've scooped that up as well. I've been checking around pawn shops my way, most are clueless to that particular model of Remington, to include most gun shops. I picked my SM up in Wally world for around 200.00 and never looked back. Upgrade the extractor to a volquarten one, replaced the crap tube follower and upgraded to the police 870 trigger group. Use the 3.5" nitros with it, they are absolute hammers for birds.
You don't like a little more movement for the jerk rig?
I bought one by mistake years ago. Unreliable, not worth the money.
Take a fishing pole with a big Rat-L-Trap below a slip bobber to retrieve your ducks if you dont have a dog or boat.
Please make a video where you hunt over this.
looks like ya'll is at greenbottom
What County? I’m originally from Greenup Co
The 870 does not have cerakote. The Express finish is kind of parkerized, but does not provide the same level of protection as a cerakote finish. Also, $150 is very low end pricing for a used 870, especially a 3.5" chamber Express Super Magnum. Realistically, the budget on this shotgun should be about $250 used to $350 retail.
Actually its Nov 17th........2019! Good stuff! #wvbowhunter #usmcvet
Coots destroy duck nests and attack ducklings. Whack them all!!
I bought a Bear Legion used from bow shop two years ago for my first bow and I gave 300 for ready to hunt
Rhett Green nice!! Good deals out there for sure if you look!
Not trying to trash talk your video, but I was interested to see what you would put on there for $300 for someone who didn't already have a bow or sights, rest, etc. You should have got a sight and rest for that bow instead of throwing stuff you already had on there. I think you should make another video. I wouldn't buy anything, but just go on amazon and show someone what they should buy for that bow. Just say you got 150 in the bow without the restring price and then actually finish building the bow and stay around your $300 mark. Not being mean, but a fast Eddie or QAD is not something someone who is trying to stay sub $350 is probably not going to get especially new(if it comes on a used bow they get good for them). It would be better and more meaningful if you actually gave your recommendation on what sight, rest, quiver, and maybe a stabilizer for beginners. Most people who are going to be looking at this video don't know what is an actually good sight for a budget and not just junk. Again not being mean or anything, but I think you missed the whole point of your own video. If I was just getting into archery I would not know what to get. I would suggest either making a new video explaining and walking someone through what to get or at least in the description list links to something you would recommend to someone building their first bow or looking into doing it on the cheap. Also if you are going to recommend people to go the used bow route you need to tell them stuff they need to look for when buying a used bow. (I know you bought yours online, but if someone meets in person they need to know things to look for. Got my @ss burnt when I bought my first bow which was used. Lots of stuff was wrong with it but did not know what to look for.) Just more of your audience for this video have either not had/purchased a bow before or looking to upgrade from there basspro diamond edge sb1(which is not a bad starter bow at all). You did do a good job on your video as far as speaking clear, having good quality video/audio and the way you presented the video. The idea/concept for the main idea was a wonderful topic to cover on. I just remembered watching a lot of these kinds of videos whenever I was buying my first bow. Again not being mean. Just some constructive crit. One last thing if you are going to do a series either upload them once a week or just make one big video. I know people includding myself hate having to track down pt2 and stuff like that. The entire series runtime was short enough you could get by with one video or two. Your videos are better than mine, so keep it up!
FurrRealAdventures I covered the accessories portion of the build in episode 3. I’ll post a link here: czcams.com/video/Nsu7fZ7yOps/video.html I decided to go with accessories I already owned just to save on cost for myself. I still covered everything on the accessory front and what I would look for.
I appreciate theconstructive feedback, always looking to get better. This will be a 5-6 part series, the first 4 are up now. The other two installments will be coming soon!! Thanks for watching!!
Try alternating calls more. More feed calls and low quacks. When they fly over you, slack off the call a bit. Hit them harder when they’re going away and coming to you. Need to get motion on the water. A spinner or a jerk string.
any updates on the wind duck since you made this ?
Brian Webb used it several times throughout the season. Super durable product. If you are in an area that has a lot of “continuous” wind they’re good. They also make a ton of noise, and I do mean a ton. If nothing else, it’s annoying. Not sure if the noise flares ducks, but it could be an issue. If your hunting high winds the noise from the decoy wouldn’t matter anyway.
i'll be trying this idea in the upcoming season, thanks!
As a kid I had a neighbor who duck hunted. Every year I'd see him in his yard painting his decoys next to his rickety jon boat. He didn't have the latest and greatest yet he faithfully came home with ducks. I'm a firm believer that skill is the ultimate factor in successful hunting.
Mad Martigan at the end of the day, you just have to be where the ducks want to be. Decoys just guide the ducks where you want them to go when they get there
By the time they get close enough to see the detail they are history anyway
Nice video. I have the wingmaster version and, man is a great gun.
WIPING THE GUN WITH AN OILED CLOTH TAKES LESS THAN A MINUTE .... I HUNT WITH AN EXPRESS FOR 17 YEARS AND THERES NO RUST ON IT ....YOU CAN CLEAN AN 870 PRETTY GOOD IN 15 MINUTES TOPS .... JUST DONT BE LAZY AN NEVER LET THE SUN SET ON A DIRTY GUN
I bought a box of Rem Oil wipes and have been keeping them in my blind bag. Been using them when I get back to the truck before putting the gun back in the case. Still get some rust spots but nothing too crazy.
Mod steel shot choke from Carlson and #4 federal waterfowl speedshock 3inchers lay them down at 40 yards , not recommended to shoot steel through a full choke being that steel wont compress as lead , might not pattern correctly
On my 870 Factory Full Choke it literally says Steel or Lead shot. Maybe some full chokes it isn't ok but the 870 factory one it is recommended.
Blow your freaking nose!
Yeahhhh........
Their greenwing teal are very very good.
Big's BUIDB I’ll have to look into those. Gonna have to look into their wood ducks too.
Just ordered both from Walmart. They’re about 25 buck for 6
I got the Woodstock for $180
