- Opening Day!!! Didn't even get out until 9am and traffic was pretty slow. Only birds flying were the divers, and one Merganser made up the entire morning. I'll continue to pound out content as soon as this sickness passes.

I don't think merganser taste bad they taste fine to me , I like to smoke alot of my ducks or make jerky out of them, I like jerky because you can take it anywhere and it delicious. Good video keep it up.
Jerky is happening for sure. I have a ton of recipes to try in the next few weeks.
Take a fishing pole with a big Rat-L-Trap below a slip bobber to retrieve your ducks if you dont have a dog or boat.
Ever think about using a cast net to retrieve the ducks?
JourneyedAvenger hadn’t thought about it. It would work if the ducks weren’t so far out I guess. I have a cast net, wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep it handy.
What state are you in? Our duck season is almost over.

The Iowa Plainsman Outdoors the further we move into January temperatures are in the teens. Right now we’re in the 30s and 40s.
