To show how fast it really fires Every like 5th round is a tracer(the red stuff)
It's a land based phalanx. So every round is Multipurpose Tracer Self-Destruct round. Those are used to prevent friendly or civilian loss when firing as the munitions will have disintegrated before hitting the ground. You can't exactly choose when and where you will fire it after all.
