Upon hearing about the news of leffen's victory at EVO, a legendary Street Fighter Pro by the name of SnakeEyez announced that Guilty Gear Strive was the easiest of the 2D fighters. To prove it, he said he could enter a tournament and win all without having never played it before. He did so, and he used the lowest tier character in the meta... and won, all to prove a point. SnakeEyes never touched Guilty Gear Strive after that tourney. Leffen routinely gets clowned on by Street Fighter Pros, and it's amazing.

If a platform fighter wants to a diverse competitive stagelist with all sorts of stage layouts, then they need to add objective modes like king of the hill or a Search and Destroy mode like fps games do. It solves the issue of one playing camping at the most advantageous spot on odd layout stages since the only viable spot to camp would be to hold the objective as intended. Then just make sure the objectives are in a reasonable spot.
