Take "most" out of your title :) I've only done DADGAD for a couple of years and play everything from pop to classical. It's a very rich sounding tuning because of 3 Ds and 2 As. I've found it easier than D major because of the F# to G area.

Thanks for these Dadgad tutorials, I have played for decades in this tuning but always learn a lot from you.

You have so many videos, where do we start? Is there an order we should watch them?

You are the DAD in DADGAD!!! It is a tuning that sounds so pleasing to your ear. It has a great Celtic sound and even lends itself to some blues styles. Make sure to find the live videos Tom did on DADGAD, wonderful.

I appreciate this video more than you will ever know. I'm currently writing my first ever song in open D Minor tuning and I feel myself coming out of a prolonged rut. For the chorus it works well for me to go to G minor when, in the past, I would have used G major. Thanks again!

Excellent video, thanks. I just got an Acoustic alot like yours. Trying to figure out when it was made. It's got a G37 in the f-hole. The tuner knobs are all brittle so i can't put strings on it yet. Going to watch the movie. Look fwd to seeing the guitar and Emma.

Number One rule for beginners: Don't wash your left fretting hand!!! That way, your fingertips will hurt SO much less! Amazing that nobody says that.

I’m a huge fan of these capo’s. I play 12 string a my primary instrument as a working musician here in Vegas, and probably capo at least half of my songs in a gig, all around the neck. One tip I’ve learned is to not ‘snap’ the capo off and on at tension. It’s best to loosen the tension screw first and bring up to tension as needed, banded upon where you are on the neck. You are 100% about the first fret. This is by far the best capo I’ve used on a 12 string guitar. Shub, Kyser, Dunlop, D’Addario/Planet Waves, none compare to the compensated G7th. I’m awaiting my first Heritage model with comp pad to arrive presently. Nice video dude!

Good advice for elderly people who have picked the guitar at 50

If your fingertips are tender buy a bottle liquid skin at the drug store and coat the tips. Works great.

I’m one of those people that have loved music my whole life and always wanted to play either the guitar or piano….. being a Christian, I love the thought of being able to carry my guitar with me wherever I go and Fellowshipping with others, I can’t do that with a piano 😂 I’m not sure if you’ll even get this question, but I would like to ask you if you think it’s wise to first get books on learning to read music before I even pick up the guitar. I haven’t read music in years and thought that maybe it is the route I should take. your thoughts?
