Monthly sessions at InSpiral Lounge, Camden, ran for 6 years, with resident selector Toby Ranks hosting.
Guest selectors included Nick Manasseh, Perilous Selector, Sir Lennox, Matti Dread and Stereochemist with guest vocalists Bobo Blackstar, Ramon Judah, Bongo Kanny, Prince Tuffy Irie and Gregory Fabulous bringing positive vibes to the sessions.
Rockers have also run sessions at Rototom Sunsplash, One Love and Glade festivals, Hootananny, Jamrock, Purple Turtle, SOAS, Open The Gate, Dub Central and BuXa.

The Viceroys - Time Is Important
The Viceroys head up this 80's dancehall version excursion with 'Time Is Important', taken from their 'We Must Unite' LP released on Trojan records in 1982.
Track two is Toyan's version on the riddim 'Hot Reggae Music', taken from the Rub-A-Dub Soldiers compilation LP, released on the Makasound label in 2007.
Track three is the unmistakable voice of Eek-A-Mouse with 'Modelling Queen', taken from the B-Side of his 1981 single 'Once A Virgin' released on Joe Gibbs records.
The dub version is also taken from the Scientist LP 'Scientist Encounters Pac Man'.
Track one, two and four were produced by Linval Thompson and recorded and mixed at Channel One Studios by Scientist. Track Three 'Modelling Queen', was produced by Errol T and Joe Gibbs, mixed by Soldgie and recorded at Harry J's Recording Studio.
These tracks have been authentically remixed by Toby Ranks with additional vocal snippets, drum licks, guitars and effects in the style of the time - creating unique versions of 40 year old rub-a-dub classics.

What Scientist was doing in the 80s to Reggae music was beyond genius, big up also to the great bands like Roots Radics and the Revolutionaries tough mix from you also.
Scientist, Jammy and Tubby were creative artists at the top of their game, pushing their equipment and the boundaries of music. They have influenced so many music styles since. Radics and Revolutionaries were rock solid - Junjo, Thompson and Thomas, were the finishing touch. An incredible combination.
@@ReggaeRockers real talk, not forgetting Coxone Dodd, and Leroy Sibbles who created a lot of the riddims we still enjoy today..oh yeah and also Duke Reid.

Yeah maaan - I grew up as a teenager on any singer @ channel 1, Roots Radics band led by Flabba, mix at King Tubbys by Scientist. Sounds better than 95% of reggae made nowadays and nuff respect for the upload.

This is delicious musical wickedness for real.
Yep, I grew up in early 80s as a teen on these kinds of tunes. I blast them to this day driving up and down in America. Crazy we have better technology now, but these tunes definitely sound better than much of the reggae produced today. Also, what I love is people all over the world regardless of nationality or race love the authentic reggae sound from Channel 1, mix by scientist @ King Tubbys. Yeah Maaaaaaan.
They’re timeless. Although the analogue equipment used at the time was often quite basic, it added a certain quality that is absent in more recent productions. It’s true reggae brings people of all nations together and we certainly need more of that in these troubled times. ✌️ Glad you’re enjoying the music 🎧
