  • Part two continues with more rub-a-dub classics from the early eighties, including hits by Johnny Osbourne, Sugar Minott, Wayne Jarrett, Clint Eastwood and General Saint and many more.
They're all backed by the Roots Radics, recorded at Channel One and King Tubby's, mixed at Channel One Studios by Scientist and Prince Jammy and produced by Linval Thompson and Henry 'Junjo' Lawes.
Authentically remixed by Toby Ranks, with additional vocal hooks, drum licks, guitars, horns and effects in the style of the time - creating unique versions of 40 year old rub-a-dub classics.
The complete track list will be posted on the insta page tobyranksrockers

Yep, I grew up in early 80s as a teen on these kinds of tunes. I blast them to this day driving up and down in America. Crazy we have better technology now, but these tunes definitely sound better than much of the reggae produced today. Also, what I love is people all over the world regardless of nationality or race love the authentic reggae sound from Channel 1, mix by scientist @ King Tubbys. Yeah Maaaaaaan.

They’re timeless. Although the analogue equipment used at the time was often quite basic, it added a certain quality that is absent in more recent productions.
It’s true reggae brings people of all nations together and we certainly need more of that in these troubled times. ✌️
Glad you’re enjoying the music 🎧
