Never really played it at the arcade, but I enjoyed it on the PS2. I'm playing Beat Saber nowadays. Although, I'd prefer to be playing DDR or Guitar Hero.

I started another playthrough of Elden Ring yesterday... and the fact that even after two years I still remember every single rock and crevice of the entire map just goes to show that this design philosophy works. I can't recall almost anything about most locations in games with map markers. In those games the environment is just a nuisance to be overcome. In Elden Ring the environment is a character in their own right. You get to know the locations intimately, because you have to explore and think about the environment while you are traversing it. Incidentally now that I think about it the same goes for classic WoW maps. There weren't map markers and I can recall every single detail of those locations in my head in vivid detail. But I really can't say the same about the locations in recent expansions.

Dishonored is what the last of us 2 imagined itself to be. But there’s only one Arkane I guess.

I hope everyone from Bethesda watches this and takes it to heart. You nailed it to the point what most people felt for a long time.

I love this video. It greatly puts together many of the problems I have with this game. I would be okay with most of these problems existing, if only the RDR2 braindead community wasn't hell-bent on this game being "the perfect 10/10 game, where Rockstar thought of everything and it's this and that...". RDR2 is heavily flawed game where I feel like the developers actually haven't spent much time playing the game. Is it a great game? Yes. Did I have fun playing it? Yes. But I am tired of hearing how Rockstar did something great. Most of what they did is half-assed and often contradicts itself.

I'd argue was outdated about 15 years ago. To be fair I was starting to get stale with Oblivion.

What about the crafting system? Equipment crafting was a huge step back from FO4. Somehow, the technology to produce modular components has been lost, being replaced with a resource sink (to give you a reason to mine stuff, I guess). And then there's all the stuff you can pick up that has zero use at all. No scrapping, just completely useless clutter. Because "people like to pick things up." **** ***, Todd! Seriously, how did they make the decision to make those mechanics worse? How much effort did it take to NOT just update/tweak the 8 year-old system from FO4?

I'm playing Fallout 76 for the first time now. Even though I'm having some fun with all the improvements since release, the controls and "combat" feels like Morrowing from 2003 or 04.

Only played this game for two days, realized I started to hate going in space, and gave up.
