I was watching your video and you started at Little Mermaid Bakery which I never heard of. As you went through it I would swear you're eating at Andersen Bakery. When you held up your point card, I knew it was the same as Andersen! They are both connected. I've traveled to Japan over 50 times in the past 20 years and I love Andersen Bakery so much, I often plot my hotels around their different locations. Keep collecting the points!

I walked through the Oimicho Market at night alone, thinking it would be a short cut from our hotel to the nearest convenient store. That was quick the creepy experience. But overall it was a lovely town to visit in Japan. 😊

I’m working in Japan for going on 14 years now. Some Japanese companies are very traditional and severely strict. I’ve been forced to work all National Holidays for no extra pay, even forced to work when the company was closed on some Sundays just to meet the hourly quota for the working hours for the year and no salary increase in 8 years. This is the Japanese way.

at my last job the last 4 years i had to travel a lot (not as much as you tho!) and at first i thought thats so cool but after the first year i absolutely hated it. Mind you i have a wife and 2 dogs and not seeing them pissed me off. I had to quit after 4 years and now have a job where i earn much less but also dont have to travel anymore and i couldnt be more happier. People often romanticize traveling at work but it wears you down fast in my opinion.

I love that Loft store! I bought an awesome Japanese egg roll pan there. Also love Japanese stationary, pens, skincare, face masks, sunscreen and ceramics. Galbo sweets are a must too

Loft, Hands and even ordinary chemists are all great options for souvenir hunting. One exception to that in my opinion is Donki, as I believe they're really overrated as a store when the exploration fun factor is excluded. Like, their products tend to be of cheaper quality and aren't necessarily that cheap price wise. To top it all off their typical product design is mega garish in a bad way😢 I only shop in Donki when there's absolutely no other option like when I desperately need a spare charger or something in 1am. Even in that situation though convenience stores usually offer reasonably priced stuff and are much more straightforward to navigate.
