    Also you mistakenly told that the ESR will be shared and then a timer of 3 seconds will initiate, I believe you wanted to say that AD is shared and thus they discovered each other, post which the ESRs are shared and then the order list and then the DF selection takes place. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    In case of VXLAN, when an NDF forwards the BUM traffic to the DF on the same ethernet segment, the DF should block it using the local bias (looking at the source tunnel ip), identifies the ESI, there is a mistake in reading. For MPLS, there is an ESI label which when the DF gets, it understands that this packet belongs to this ES, not sure what IMET label does here? Kindly clarify.

One day primary ISP had problems of several packet loss until after an hour it became unusable, so you need to divert the link/traffic and switch to the secondary link or ISP2. When CE send ARP packet where destination is all Fs then PE replicate that ARP message to flooding list (to other PEs with two label LDP + Service label received in IMET route). Question is: for this replication what will be protocol type. Tried capture in wireshark between PE to PE but not getting any packet matching with this information

    • @Ten-Dot-One
      @Ten-Dot-One Před 11 měsíci

      In general, when you receive an ARP at PE, it will do ARP Proxy to do ARP suppression. Type 3 just creates a flood list to discover other PE in the same broadcast domain. And that flood list will be used for any BUM traffic. But we already have ARP suppression in place. We do not flood ARP packets.

    • @abhisheksa6635
      @abhisheksa6635 Před 6 měsíci

      So if I can understand correctly the IMET route RT3 results in creation of the flooding list, or in short the PEs belonging to the same EVI. Also ARP suppression kicks in if the PE has learnt the MAC/IP.
