  • Welcome to our channel, where we explore the fascinating world of networking! In this video, we'll dive into the concept of EVPN (Ethernet Virtual Private Network) and explore how BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) advertises MAC (Media Access Control) and IP addresses using Route Type 2. Additionally, we'll delve into EVPN VxLAN, a key technology that enables scalable and flexible network virtualization. Whether you're a network engineer, a data center administrator, or simply curious about advanced networking protocols, this video will provide you with valuable insights and practical knowledge.
EVPN is a revolutionary technology that enhances network connectivity and service delivery in modern networks. It combines the flexibility of Layer 2 Ethernet networks with the scalability and efficiency of Layer 3 IP networks, enabling seamless communication and advanced features in data centers and wide area networks.
In this educational video, we'll cover the following key points:
Introduction to EVPN: We'll start by explaining what EVPN is and how it brings innovation to network connectivity. You'll gain a clear understanding of its key features and benefits, including enhanced control, automation, and support for virtualized environments.
BGP Advertised MAC/IP: Explore how BGP, a widely-used routing protocol, is leveraged to advertise MAC and IP addresses within the EVPN network. We'll delve into the intricacies of BGP route advertisements and how they facilitate efficient forwarding and communication between devices.
Route Type 2: Understand Route Type 2, a specific type of BGP advertisement used in EVPN deployments. We'll explain how Route Type 2 routes are used to distribute MAC and IP reachability information across the network, ensuring proper connectivity and seamless communication.
EVPN VxLAN: Dive into EVPN VxLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN), a technology that enables scalable network virtualization. We'll explore how EVPN VxLAN encapsulates Layer 2 Ethernet frames within Layer 3 IP packets, facilitating the seamless extension of Layer 2 networks across Layer 3 boundaries.
Benefits and Use Cases: Discover the benefits of leveraging EVPN, BGP advertised MAC/IP, and EVPN VxLAN in network deployments. We'll explore real-world use cases where these technologies excel, such as data center interconnectivity, multi-tenancy, and network virtualization.
By the end of this video, you'll have a solid understanding of EVPN, how BGP advertises MAC and IP addresses using Route Type 2, and the significance of EVPN VxLAN in network virtualization. Whether you're a network professional seeking to optimize network performance or an enthusiast interested in advanced networking protocols, this video will equip you with the knowledge to effectively implement and leverage these technologies in your network deployments.

Ar 6:22, L1 sends flooding to L3 and L5. but how L1 know it has to send to L3 and L5, but not to L4 ? Is vxlan vni to vlan mapping is helping here ?

I believe it sends to all the remote PEs, only because the VNI/EVI do not match, the L2 and L4 discards it. Can you confirm @TenDotOne?

Do you have the write up of whatever you are speaking, it is very well defined, and it would be good to keep that write up for future
