I agree with your pacing issues with 2 but I feel like the stakes and scale aren’t as big compared to 3. 3 had all the heroes and all the villains coming together for a finale so they had stuff to get through. I just feel it wasn’t executed very well. I say that cos I hardly remember it at all so it didn’t have much impact on me. Also key blade graveyard is a boring climax location compared to TWTNW

I would like to see how KH4 Would tackle Alladin and the King of Thieves, and have cameos by the Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia cast, like how shocked Sora, Donald and Goofy would be finding out Faris was actually a girl, knowing the true evil of Kefka, clashing swords with Beatrice.

Fire in kh2 is designed to be used with chicken little who is your early game magnet option as well as being exceptionally good at catching shadows when they come up before they duck back down immediately because of the lingering area of effect. Chicken little's magnet is arguably better than magnega because it puts enemies directly on top of you which lets fire deal damage to basically everything in the mob fight. Not to mention being good at juggling and overall a unique form of magic that they got rid of in kh3 unless youre in a formchange making every fucking magic the same.

Honestly, the moments where a FF character pops up always were the highlights for me when I played Kingdom Hearts. It felt like...like a famous pop-star making a guest appearance in a very popular show. And the most fun parts were when the FF and Disney stuff got intertwined, seeing these characters be thrown into situations way out of their comfort zone was always a lot of fun. Would hate to see it removed as I feel it's part of the KH DNA.

It may be recency bias, but I do think Data-Sora should receive a moment here, I dunno what you personally have against Re:Coded, honestly one of my favorite KH titles, having played and finished almost every single one (only Days, CoM and 1 left, and both CoM and 1 I dropped at the penultimate area, CO for CoM and HB for KH1, Days I don't ever plan on playing again), anyway, Data-Sora as much as he is just Sora's stand-in, same personality and schtick, he still undergoes his own journey and challenges, for the most part alone, and for me the moment that sold him as his own character was at HB2, Riku saying they had to close the datascape for good, and Sora just running straight into it to save Maleficent and Pete, people say that Re:Coded may as well be the only skippable title storywise, and I don't disagree, but know that Pete and Maleficent could be dead from one game to another thanks to that; the whole scene is great, Riku saying this is far worse than risking losing your memory, they'll lose their entire world, and then they would risk the outside world (however that works), and DR asking if DS isn't scared, and DS just answering "course I am, you weren't?", and when DR asks, Sora just saying Riku has done the same before, because there's nothing scarier than not doing anything to help, he doesn't know if he'll win, but he knows he'll try. That, is a great moment for me

16:00 I remember playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and realizing that Destiny Islands is actually a way bigger chain of islands than we thought complete with a school system with professional uniforms and it really does make you see Riku's desire to leave in KH1 in a new light. It's less "kid in a dead end world wants to see what the universe has to offer" and more "kid who really doesn't want his summer vacation to end" (Yes, that's a Roxas joke) and it honestly does fit Riku's character

I thought it would be nice if in the Grid Sora grabbed Rinzler's hand and all of a sudden, he turned blue and removed his helmet revealing himself to be Tron, who remembers Sora and is now free of Clu's control. As for City of Bells, sadly with the death of Frollo's original VA, Tony Jay, like with Sark and the MCP in KH2 with David Warner, they get Corey Burton. And he pulls it off greatly. And what would suggest the boss for Traverse Town be? Sho Minamamoto? He'd probably try to kill Sora and anyone else with a Level i Flare, which can kill anyone whose level is a multiple of 1.
