As a tourist video, it would be wise to educate yourself on what is acceptable and what isn't within the country you're in. "The British isles" is an outdated geographic term that is not looked on favourably by most Irish. I'm aware that it was the name of your cruise, but given the history between Ireland and the UK, a smart and clued in tourist / vlogger, should know that referring to Ireland as part of the British isles is going to draw a lot of anger your way. Ignorance really isn't an excuse here. Do better. The song is called The wild Rover.

We were on a cruise in Alaska and in the area of the glaciers. All of a sudden here comes an excursion with A LOT of people on it. As it was a NCL excursion, they were delivered very late back to the ship by the tour excursion company. I will be taking my 42nd cruise all on NCL next month, this was the most interesting one due to tour company being late.

The term 'British Isles' does not include Ireland. the term was purged from Irish and UN parlance in 1955.

Just came back from trip and we went to paradise Beach my thoughts: STAY AWAY, PARADISE HELL. Rip off. Tiny beach area with seaweed food was ok but we ordered and lucky to get some of the food. The pool water was got like bathtub water. Place is a joke.

The port of Dún Laoghaire used to be called Dunleary, an anglicisation of the old Irish name (like nearly all Irish placenames). It was changed to Kingstown in 1821 after a visit from the King of Engand, but when the country gained independence (or actually just before, during the War of Independence), it was changed back, however it was decided to adopt the old Irish language name, but the plain people of Ireland preferred the Dunleary pronunciation and stuck with that. It seems like only RTE newsreaders use the Irish pronunciation these days, which sounds like Doon Lay-our-ah . Great video thanks.

The British Isles is a Colonial term, it belongs in the past. Too many people died under British occupation for us to accept that offensive term. The Lions team is called the British AND Irish Lions team for a reason, though English journalist have to be constantly reminded of the fact. Prehaps we should rename it the Celtic Isles , possibly more acceptable to everyone.

My family stayed the Riu palace Aruba late June until July 1st 2024. The stay was horrible! We booked a year in advanced and two of us didn’t get the rooms that we requested. I need a handicap room with a shower chair and I got a room overlooking a dumpster and a parking lot. The hand house shower was broken and my niece got a room that had bedbugs and she showed them pictures and they tried to give me that same room before they put me in the room with the dumpster. Also, the resort was not handicap assessable so the scooter that I had could not make it up the ramps and the doors were not electric doors to open for any kind of scooter. The hallways smelled of sewer and urine coming into my room area. I had a little blanket or decorative throw at the end of my bed. It had blood on it and the last day of our vacation my daughter’s ceiling fell through. The staff did nothing about it. They didn’t care and they tried to put us in rooms that were already in bad shape. There were no lifeguards and a five-year-old boy drowned, and the visitors had to resuscitate him.. It was justan overall poor stay. the place is not clean. The rooms were not updated. We had booked partial Oceanview rooms and ended up getting rooms that overlook dumpsters and parking lots and Palace Aruba staff did not try to accommodate us anyway they actually made excuses so we would not be staying there when we go back to Aruba. ⭐️

Seems crazy but I grew up less than ten miles away from the Shankill/Falls peaceline area during the troubles and that area is as alien to me as it would be a traveller from the other side of the world. Can understand why people want to visit it and do the tour but it's really the absolute ugliest and sinister part of the whole of Northern Ireland and something of a throwback to a people and lifestyle whose hatred of one another held 90% of the people of Northern Ireland to violent ransom for thirty years. Think you can guess I'm not a fan. Crumlin Road Jail is a decent attraction as a day out for locals, Moreso than something you get off a cruise liner for. Personally, if your cruise has time, I'd recommend any visitor to Belfast to take the bus to the Giant's Causeway instead as it's something globally unique. Belfast is more of a city break city than a cruise liner city, great for Europeans to do a Thursday/Friday/Saturday kind of trip. Hitting Belfast early on a Sunday morning would be the absolute worst time to visit. The city is effectively closed until 1pm.

For God's sake guys give it a rest about the British Isles reference, ye have explained it enough, scroll on leave the guy alone. Welcome to Ireland 🇮🇪

The best advice that you gave here was to go onto the website of any place that you want to visit and book tickets IN ADVANCE! And do it, preferably up to 30 days in advance. Believe me please, that’s the only way to do stuff, if you do not want to be disappointed. Far too many people just rock up to some really popular sites without researching first and they find that they can’t get in because there are no available places left. PS: Irrespective of how cruise lines characterise various places in their advertising, please be aware that the term “British Isles” is extremely offensive to native Irish people in Ireland and around the world. It is a term that was coined a long time ago during colonial times when the British Empire tried unsuccessfully to eradicate Irish people, Irish culture and Irish heritage. Nowadays it is only used by very poorly informed people. And the place name Dun Laoighaire is an old Irish name, spelled out in the Irish language. Pronounced correctly, it can appear phonetically in the English language like this - “Doon Leeahreh”. The word “Dunleary” is an anglicised version that appeared during the British occupation of Ireland. Remember, the English language is just several hundred years old while the Irish language is about three thousand years old.

Bill, this video is 100% on point. Your reporting is awesome. I actually witnessed pickpocketing and how a middle aged couple entered the Vatican museum with my tour and then said they'd catch up with us so they could mingle in the crowds for pickpocketing. They took a wallet and apple airpods right off the check-in conveyor belt. And...the taxi/Uber situation is exactly how you explained it. Love the video and Looking forward to the others. Hi Bill, great video. I have a question about the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, do you need to schedule that in advance? My group has been trying to schedule that but Riu is saying that don’t do that. Did you schedule a shuttle directly at the LIR airport?
