Seems crazy but I grew up less than ten miles away from the Shankill/Falls peaceline area during the troubles and that area is as alien to me as it would be a traveller from the other side of the world. Can understand why people want to visit it and do the tour but it's really the absolute ugliest and sinister part of the whole of Northern Ireland and something of a throwback to a people and lifestyle whose hatred of one another held 90% of the people of Northern Ireland to violent ransom for thirty years. Think you can guess I'm not a fan. Crumlin Road Jail is a decent attraction as a day out for locals, Moreso than something you get off a cruise liner for. Personally, if your cruise has time, I'd recommend any visitor to Belfast to take the bus to the Giant's Causeway instead as it's something globally unique. Belfast is more of a city break city than a cruise liner city, great for Europeans to do a Thursday/Friday/Saturday kind of trip. Hitting Belfast early on a Sunday morning would be the absolute worst time to visit. The city is effectively closed until 1pm.

Very interesting! You could probably be a tour guide there! Belfast isn’t on our itinerary but looks like an interesting place!

The Titanic Museum was first rate...pre retirement I was involved in establishing and operating a large municipal museum...and this was one of the best I've visited over many years. Sorry I wasn't able to visit Robinson's Pub in Belfast (my gran's maiden name was Robinson...she was born in nearby Bangor). And glad you were able to visit Timmies as we call it up here. Given your background thought you should know it was started by a hockey player (Tim Horton whose picture you showed), the first Timmies was in my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario and after Tim Horton's untimely death it was operated by his business partner an ex Hamilton cop Ron Joyce. (More than a few ex cops own franchises).

Wow. Thanks for the information. I know Tim Horton was a hockey player, didn’t know about the police connection. Yes we loved the Titanic museum. Went through a little faster than I would have liked but it was very well done. Thanks again for watching. We went on a Canada / New England cruise after this and will have those videos done eventually

Bill, I have just watched your videos on ‘British isles’ Cruises, specifically those on Ireland and was surprised yet delighted as to how many Irish People living in Ireland took great exception to your titles and the non attempt to identify that you were in Ireland not the british isles. For a man who speaks of his history knowledge you don’t have a clue. For 800 years the English oppressed Ireland - starved us out, outlawed our religion, precluded catholics from owning/renting land, 1845 to 1852 caused The Great Famine due to trade agreements e.g. dairy and wheat harvest’s exported to Britain and their overseas territories. Which brings us to Home Rule Bill - Passed, but not Law as WWI 1914 broke out. 1916 the Easter Rising, all Irish Leaders shot! Eventually leading to 1921 formation of Irish Free State. Finally in 1924 the Republic of Ireland’s independence was globally recognised. So, trying to blame the cruise line for the mis labelling is just a pitiful attempt to pass the blame. The vast majority of comments pull you up on this. Own your lack of knowledge and understanding, it’s the least you could do.

Thanks for the history lesson I already knew. And in fact 96% of those who I have responded to this video have liked it. Nowhere in the video did I say that Dublin or Cork were in the British Isles. I am assuming you didn’t actually watch the video.
I was recently on a Greek Island cruise that left from Rome. Most Italians figured that out without offense.
My family came to America during the potato famine and I am actually a distant cousin of Michael Collins. I support Ireland 100% but I do not support political correctness.

@@ftbeat and yet again you are still not getting the point!! Please re-read my first sentence, the titles identify it as british isles, you and you alone made no effort to identify the country as Ireland. As your videos are directed at Americans etc., they should know what country you are in. I suppose it can’t be helped, the us goes not have a good education system. The Italians were not oppressed by Greece for 800 years 🤨 Delighted your family survived the ghost ships to America. Not everyone did.
Any proof of you being related to ‘The Big Fella’ just curious 🧐
Finally you don’t support political correctness “conformity to prevailing liberal or radical opinion, in particular by carefully avoiding forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalise or insult groups of people who are (have been) socially disadvantaged or discriminated against”, so you are an uneducated insensitive buffoon towards any country’s history and culture.
Happy travels, just don’t come back to Ireland ⛔️⛔️
