GTS wheels look great. Exemplary condition, a credit to the owner. May even be a '3 on the tree', as we used to describe the standard three speed 'box. Interesting braking in it with 4wheel drums as standard...🤞 Tho maybe GMH put front discs on board by '74...close to one of the last Q's,as HJ debuted in the August or thereabouts. A lovely cruiser,and congratulations 😁👍

Best sounding HX exhaust I've ever heard,coooool 👍 Terrific example of arguably the least collectable Monaro,with all due consideration. HX series Holdens introduced ADR27a emissions control measures. With a seeming maze of engine piping leading all around the bay, the emissions required had a significant impact on performance. I'm sure they didn't sound this healthy straight from the factory. Actually either 6 or 8 motors in this series sounded awful. Ford and Chrysler had better motors at the time. Nevertheless, great to see a seriously well maintained Monaro, congratulations 😁

I recall my youth, when $500.00, yes five hundred dollars could buy a half defend ZB Fairlane with a 351, one wheel burouts all. Day until a retread came off.

Had an almost identical spec (non GS) back in 1984 as a first car, paid $2K. Mine had a black interior and I changed out the original dash for a GT. Good times.

I prefer these over the Falcon GT's of the era. Best looking individual Holden models ever. I once had an HG Kingswood sedan in light green with a white roof. I had plans to fit Monaro wheel covers to it, a Monaro dash, four speed manual and 186S engine, but shelved the project and got a VB Commodore. I'm gonna head out to country towns and see if i can find a paddock or shedded HK to HG to buy and restore. Might get em cheaper that way.

Would be a difficult car to have as a daily. No aircon and black interior. 3 on tree so no power steering (they couldn't be ordered together), and hard to see out of and steer when reverse parking. Still, as a weekender in rural areas....... heaven on wheels! It would strike up conversations and turn heads everywhere she went!

I'm not generally a fan of jellybean rims, but they do fit in well with the first generation Monaro styling. They don't look bad on VH to CL Charger either!

I bought a 1972 XA GS 351 ute in Red Pepper in 1974, paid $2,800 for it s/h. 4 speed Toploader, 9” diff, all factory. Took it to Simsmetal in 1982 when it rusted out ☹️. Kept the engine and driveline for my XD ute which still runs to this day. Old story, should have kept the XA but no one knew at the time.

Nice But Have you noticed lately there is a lot of Overpriced Muscle Cars For Sale. I believe that the Changing of Fossil Fuel to Renewable Sources will either be the end of Vintage Cars or the Government will introduce a Tax Levy so Inflated it will be to Expensive to Register or Run your Petrol Cars. Look what they did with LPG Cars and if you still have one they are always breaking down or you cannot undo the Conversion. The Government will eventually Phase Out the Petrol Cars and they won’t be worth much except either for Show or Scrap Metal. If anyone buys a Petrol Driven Car today you are throwing Money away So could you turn a Muscle Car into a Electric Car at a Reasonable Price is my Question But You don’t get the Luxurious Comfort and Smooth Ride of the Modern E Car? 🙉🙈🙊

Lovel Fairlane! Beautiful panel and paint with perfect gaps. Did these Fairlanes have a bigger interior room than the Falcon’s of the same year?
