Australian Muscle Car Sales proudly presents for sale is HSV VS GTS-R Build No. 74 in BRAND NEW condition throughout with only 25,740 km on the clock. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.
This super limited edition flagship HSV was only available in XU-3 Yellah with Carbon fibre inserts and the huge HRT inspired carbon fibre rear wing. Running gear was the HSV and Ron Harrop designed stroker L98 engine, with a bore of 101.6mm and stroke of 88.4, measuring 5737cc. Power was increased from the 185kW and 400Nm of torque for the five-litre, to the stroker 5.7 litres 215kW and 475Nm of torque at the same revs. That combined with the Tremec T56 six-speed transmission and “Hydratrak” limited slip differential (LSD) package made for a car with the show and lots of go.
Originally sold through Brian Gardner Motors in Kalgoolie, WA on the 26th of November 1996, the GTS-R moved to the second owner in Launceston, Tasmania and was serviced at Motors, Launceston every six months until 2000 when it was sold to the third collector owner in Melbourne with just over 5,200 km on the clock. The car was then serviced at the Patterson Cheney dealership in 2002 with just 9,171 km on the clock. Build No. 74 then moved to a well known HSV collector in Toowoomba, QLD who held the HSV until 2016 when the current owner bought the car with 17,000 km on the clock. The current owner worked for Heartland Holden as a mechanic for over 25 years and he has fastidiously serviced and cared for this impeccable GTS-R without regard to cost ot time. Now with just 25,740 km on the clock, this irreplaceable HSV is presented for sale in immaculate unmolested and totally original condition with the numbered HSV Compendium and Authenticity Certificate, Log books and owners manuals, full service and ownership history, two sets of keys and the HSV GTS-R Jacket.
Externally, the GTS-R features UNMARKED original factory Yellah paint. Even under the front bumper is unmarked and original factory Yellah paint. All the carbon fibre is in perfect condition. The interior features the matching GTS-R cloth trim in AS NEW condition with no wear to the seat bolsters, original yellow threaded steering wheel and gear knob, factory power steering, power windows, working air-conditioning, 10 stacker Sony CD player and powered mirrors. The dash features the HSV build plaque noting the car is build number 74 and the centre armrest still features the original build date sticker for March, 1996. All carpets, roof lining, door cards and parcel shelf are in original and immaculate condition.
Mechanically, the GTS-R has been maintained with regular servicing every 5,000 km using Mobil 1 Synthetic oils and the HSV performs as a stroker HSV should. Build No. 74 still features the original Holden spark plugs and air cleaner.
The GTS-R is riding on the factory alloy rims with Bridgestone S-02 235/45ZR17 tyres. The original unused spare wheel is shod in a Bridgestone Expedia 205/55 ZR16 with factory tools and torque spit kit to remove the HSV carbon fibre centre cap.
