Nice job on the repair, good skill to have for the wife-mobile. I've resorted to doing the same as I paid to have a pair refinished once, only to have her use them as parking sensors again. We have a pair of X5 diesels, her car only gets the 19" wheels and I put the nice 20s on mine. Gotta give her a little extra sidewall cushion. 🤦‍♂️

Nice job! Just did my 2008 CLK350 First time ever doing anything more than washing my car. Used a combo of DA & Rotary. LC LL Wool and Blue Course to cut with KC H902 and Sonax Ultimate Cut. Then refined with KC M302 mainly. Also tried some sonax perfect finish and angelwax perfect polish. Then did some jeweling with LC Black HDO and angelwax redemption. Don't know if that did much. Then I sealed with KCS002. It came out amazing. So proud of myself. Did not remove much clear. That is some hard clear coat let me tell you. I plan to do again in the fall but first got to touch up some very small rock chips. Next time I am going to do entire thing rotary.

When I se a rotary with the Rupes coarse woolpad, I know someone means business. I usually use the cut&finish wool/rotary on my boat/gelcoat.😯

A car wash in Jacksonville used the clear coat wipe on my 2002 black Ford Excursion. It looked bad to start, but 3 days later the hood turned a milky, chalky white. My hometown detail guy sai it was toast. The hood would have to be sanded and repainted. Stuff should be illegal

Good job I think it is most harder job for you so here in the store we had done many work like this I can recommend you 3m perfect it systems only for this job and you can incorporate flex 3401 DA and Rotary polisher in one you will be amazing results greetings from 🇧🇪🙏

Another great job. How thick was the paint and how much did you end up taking off? It was hammered. Did my neighbors Chevy Equinox last week. Same thing., quoted a price because I thought it'd just be an easy one step. It wasn't. Had 12 hours into it. Ended up doing a 2 step instead. Couldn't send out a car that wasn't up to standards.

Before you quit at 3 pm on July 4, the polishing you did looked good. I agree that is tedious! The end result was amazing!! The car looks good as new! Wow!!

Totally can relate on that last portion ... Aside from basic overhead, I've also come to realize the value of time. The level of effort and care we give to client cars, as well as skills developed along the way is value that clients may not directly be able to visualize. I definitely resonate with you that it's a bummer when a client does not follow through, as I'm sure it's our love for detailing that continues to propel us to continue.

So I do body work and ppf doesn't pull clearcoat unless the clear has not been applied properly, could be a defect from factory or maybe the car was resprayed and you did not know. But 100% guaranteed ppf does not pull clear coat. Also, one thing you said is 100% wrong. When paint is done properly it adheres extremely well, same as metal, to plastic. The main issue here, is that either from factory or a respray was not done properly and the clear failed. I get faulty paint jobs from factory all the time, especially Mercedes and Acuras. Happens all the time and we have to respray.

You did a great job the re-spray is a bummer. I would love to have PPF on the front of my pick up but I'm worried when it will need to be removed and new applied.
