This series will follow my progress from my CBT all the way to getting my full bike licence. Gaps along the way will be filled with product reviews for items I will use along the way. You can also expect some rides out around the beautiful Isle of Wight where I call home, and shopping for my first 125cc motorcyle...

Module 2 Motorcycle Training POV - Final Ride Before MOD 2 Test - Honda Hornet 750
Module 2 Motorcycle Training POV - Today we head back to Pitstop Training for more banter (and some mod 2 training) with Paul. We are joined by Callum who was also in my MOD 1 test group. We got told off a fair bit when we made mistakes which is great as that really helps it to sink in - nice one Paul! We spend some time riding around town and whizzing down some national speed limit roads. I feel ready for my test next week so we will have to see how I get on. Callum's test is also the same day as mine so good luck fella! On this ride I am using a Honda Hornet 750.

Motorcycle CBT to Full Licence VLOG - Two Wheels Tommy - Intro
I remember watching your video about your first ride after your CBT before doing my CBT, and I've now been the owner of a little varadero 125 for 9ish months now. Good luck to you fella
Brilliant bike, super reliable it will never fail you,I had one for a year until I got my full licence and I miss it still. I did a couple of thousand miles on it absolutely perfect to learn on for anyone thinking of taking their test for a full license, enjoy it they become very addictive 😊👍
I couldn't agree more. I passed my full licence this morning so it will likely be going off to another new rider soon. Great bike, but bigget bikes are that little bit better! Thanks for watching 😀
Best of luck for your mod 2 bud, I have my retest on August 9th so hoping this time round I do it.
Thaks Steven, I passed this morning! Good luck on the 9th 💪
Good luck for your MOD 2, bet you can't wait to get a big bike!
Thank you, yes exciting times ahead!
How many lessons overall did you have on your DAS and how much did it cost? I've had 2 training days so far, then Mod 1 (passed without any minors, pretty pleased!) and then Mod 2 is in a couple of weeks. The only training I've had so far was for Mod 1 really. We did go for a 2.5hr ride out with the instructor ahead of us for a bit of Mod 2 training but that's been about it
Hey, not including the CBT I think probably 5-6 lessons which took in the mod 1 manouvres, and the riding practice on a bigger bike for the MOD 2. DAS cost is about £650 I think with Pitstop. Nice work on your MOD 1 pass, go get that MOD 2 ! 🚀
@@TwoWheelsTommy what a bargain! I've paid £650 for 2 lessons and then the mods essentially lol Thanks, and good luck on yours!
@PhilSimspon I had to pay for it today, it was £750 all inclusive! Thanks, I bloomin passed 😀
@@TwoWheelsTommy congratulations! 🥳
Good luck on your test Tommy I’m sure you will pass with flying colours.
I’m thinking about having a test ride on the hornet. It’s one of the bikes I’m thinking on getting. That or a triumph tiger sport 850
I think you will like it, they are excellent. I wouldn't be able to compare between the two though as I've not ridden a Tiger Sport. I would like to though!
Thanks mate 👊
get in you got this i passed the other week with 2 minors been along the road with you watching as iv been doing my cbt to theroy and mod 1 and 2
Great to hear that, congratulations! Hope you have a nice big bike now!
@TwoWheelsTommy yeh got a ktm 890 smt still got my 125 for work tho can not wait to see you finally pass because if I managed you will smash it
@zombiestev3 Awesome, enjoy that beast!
@@TwoWheelsTommycan not wait to see what your bike shopping comes back with
Great ride out, you will pass with ease Tommy.
Hope so, thanks John 👍
If u think that was nerve wracking imagine learning to ride on a KX250 like i did 😮
Yeah the 125 was enough to get me started on!
I fancy teresa❤
Haha 💪
Good luck Tommy for your Mod 2😊
Thank you very much 👊
Can i ask a question. Do you wear ear comms with the instructor velcro'd inside your own helmet or is the helmet supplied by the training company? Cheers
Of course. I use my own helmet. They supply the comms. On my CBT it velcro's inside my helmet, since then we have used an earpiece that loops over your ear. They are all awful!
sre you going to put the stickers on your bike on your website ? they are cool man
I will do, it is just a long process doing all of the artwork etc. Hopefully by winter!
@TwoWheelsTommy that's awesome btw you have inspired me to take my CBT and step into the world of motorcycles hopefully I pass and begin my own journey
@imhuman6461 That's great news - you will love it. Go get it 🚀
I believe Steve is going to train for Mod 1 / 2 from what Paul mentioned at one of my Mod 1 training sessions.
Ah good on him, he's a great bloke 👍 When's your test?
@@TwoWheelsTommy Agreed and on the 13th I believe!
@zushirides Good luck, mine is tomorrow!
Wishing you the best of luck mate, loved watching your journey and found it really inspiring.
Thanks Dave, I appreciate you saying so! 🙂
Watxhing your progress inspired me to go for my CBT and i got throigh it ☺️ got my first bike last week and loving it! Thank you. Good luck with your mod 2 🤞
Hey Marty, nice one - love to hear stuff like that! Thank you 😀
The chap crossing at the roundabout is allowed to cross under the new Highway Code. Great to see that you’ve improved quite a bit and looking forward to seeing you complete your test. Good luck, may the force be with you!
You are quite right. Personally I would'nt cross in front of someone with L plates on whether in a car or on a bike but that is just me!
@@TwoWheelsTommy Definitely not me either but I suppose you have to expect the unexpected
@ImranOO7 Ain't that the truth!
Another decent video. Good Luck for your Mod 2 - you will be fine!
Thanks mate, appreciated 😀
Good luck for mod 2 Tommy
Thank you mate 💪
Gwarn TOMMY!! Catch me up.... July 25th PASS here! Get rid of that ANNOYING tap tap tap... on your helmet by getting some buttons sewen into the velcro that comes loose. So cheap less than a few quid for 5. I broke my GLR CB125F motorway virginity this afternoon! Been dying to go on the M1 so close outside I can hear it 😂
Nice work Keith, that is great news, bet that was fun on the motorway on a 125 😁 Man that flapping was annoying, it is actually the hi viz tabbard we have to wear. They have all been won by 1000 people and none of the zips work. I have one the same and it is great (albeit new, and the zip works!!) The zipper was stuck at the top of the zip on this one.
Really like those honda hornet 750 has just had them arrive at lightning motorcycle training, good luck for your MOD 2 test and got mine booked August 12th at Worcester 🤞🙏
What a cracking bike. Thanks, same for you on 12th August. It is meant to be roasting hot when I have mine this week 😁
@TwoWheelsTommy where you got yours booked ? Hope it's not has hot on mine as can't really stand hot weather if I'm honest but just hope it's not raining lmao
@whicheverfour Luckily we can do the MOD 2 on the island. Yes, rain would be not so good!
Could have got a tank through that first merge but the hill you definitely did blow over a bit 😂 come on Tommy you’re gonna ace it mate!
No one is perfect 😁 Thanks mate, hoping for a good result 💪
you will ace it.
Fingers crossed for that outcome!
sometimes you wish it was a two way mic and be like "nah mate I had plenty of space"
Totally, you could have got a bus through there!
When I did my mod 2 last year, I did the exact same route in my test as I did before with Paul. In the first bit going over the bridge, I also had that in my test too, you have to slow right down and position yourself to the left just in case a car comes flying over. I could hear Paul in this through the intercoms, and I even said to myself as I watched it, he needs to slow it right down and then I heard Paul say it. It’s the little things that the examiners will be very picky about. Road positioning too as Examiner will mark you down for it. Paul told me last year when I done it that examiner was and is very picky with it. I had the same examiner as I Mod 1 for my Mod 2. At the end of the day it’s all about safety and being safe on the bike. Everyone makes mistakes and that’s how we learn. You’ll past the mod 2 easy, just don’t overthink it, I just saw it as another lesson with a different instructor as that might calm nerves down if you experience them on test day. You’ll be fine and smash it.
Hey, that is all interesting and good info to know - thanks! I love it when Paul goes mad, it helps me to remember what I could have improved on. I hope I get that route on my test so I can do it better 👍
Man this seems like it'd be so stressful lol. I'm dreading it! How was the Hornet? I'm thinkingnof getting one for my first bike.
Honestly there is nothing hard about it. Riding the bigger bikes is much easier as they are more stable. I always liked the 650R more than the Hornet (based on looks) but I honestly far prefer the Hornet 750 from a riding perspective. Lovely bike!
@TwoWheelsTommy I haven't ridden anything other than a 125 on my cbt 4 weeks ago. I've got a progression lesson tomorrow and I'm scared lol. I hope they have a Hornet available. I was initially looking to get the cb650r but the Hornet has grown on me massive and I think it'll be a great first bike. Good luck for your mod 2
@GT.Bugger I was the same. To be honest riding it round the car park was easier, the bigger bikes are just more planted and less wobbly at low speed. When we had to go out on the public roads I was apprehensive but it is so easy - just go easy on the throttle as the acceleration will be a shock to your system after riding a 125 on the CBT! Thanks, I hope you get to ride a Hornet, they are lovely. I would probably buy one if I didn't have other ideas I need to get out of my system 😁
@@TwoWheelsTommy what ideas are those? Turbo busa? 🤣. Yeah, I found the 125 really hard to keep straight at low speeds. Thanks for the replies, hopefully it goes well and I can book my mod1
@GT.Bugger Not with this beergut 😯 Go get it 🚀
You will pass mod2 with ease fella.
I bloody hope so 😁
@@TwoWheelsTommyjust give yourself time to think, don’t rush anything, remember your lifesavers and you’ll pass. Give yourself time and room and don’t rush. You have the breathing space of something like 10 minor faults. So don’t stress.
@Mr-M.Fastbike1000 Thanks for the tips. I don't think my riding will be a problem as I'm very happy with that, I'd be more annoyed if I fail because of something someone else does. The driving over here is awful 😯
@@TwoWheelsTommyTommy that is the exact same thing I said before mine!
@@TwoWheelsTommyBut as I said earlier give yourself plenty of room and time so you can react accordingly to what some other idiot does.
Good luck tom
Thank you Ian 👊
Good luck Tommy, I'm sure you'll be fine. Your biggest problem will be figuring out what bike you want once you've passed. They'll all look good.
Thank you, I have pretty much decided. But that could change, We'll see!
Nice one, but if you're anything like me, it will change every time you see a bike you like. So good luck.
@TigerTiger-dh2vr You know what, I tend to keep stuff for years and years. I ride MTB and my bike is over 10 years old. I should get a new one really but when I bought it it was about the best one money could buy. It is still better than I am so it stays until it snaps or something!
I'm sure you don't need me to say it, but, good luck fella 👍 😉
Thank you very much 😀
Passed mine last Tuesday! Good luck mate.
Nice work, thank you!
Good luck hope you pass your mod 2 I passed my Mod 1 this week got my Mod 2 on Wednesday fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Thanks, you are really cramming them in! Good luck to you too 🚀
Dan? 😶🌫
Awesome that you have MOD2 soon! I failed MOD1 yesterday on something i've never done before (put my foot down on figure 8) all the time i've done it and that never happened i was so miffed with myself i swore i'd never go on a bike again as it's just a headache gettting tests booked up as i'm waiting a month between them and my aim was to hit the road with my dad before summer finished as he's getting on a bit now but that isn't going to happen this year sadly. But i booked for end of aug again for MOD1 but i'm just feeling it's not worth it far too much stress with waiting around then the nerves settle in as i don't ride day to day so being 4-5 weeks not riding you get a little stale. Good luck on MOD2 though i'm sure you'll smash it paul seems like a great instructor mine are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard mostly :)
Sorry to hear that. DO NOT GIVE UP! If you don't do it you definitely can't do it next summer either. Add to that, MOD 1 tests get cancelled all the time so you might be able to bag a cancellation in the next couple of weeks. You can check availability on the DVSA website. Check it daily and if you see a slot open up have a chat with your instructor quickly as they will need to go with you. Thanks, Paul is great - harsh but fair, just how I like it!
First 14minutes is the route I had for my test pretty tricky as I didn’t get the chance to do that route on a lesson 😂but had been watching Paul’s Tik Tok so knew what was coming 💪🏼 goodluck Tommy I’m sure you’ll smash it
Oh, really! I feel it has gone well so far there must be something that goes wrong before I get a pass. We'll see. I feel good about it, hope it all comes together on the day 💪
Just seen the message at the end of the video - Congrats Harriet on your Mod 2!!
@@TwoWheelsTommyyou’ll be alright 💪🏼 keep thinking positive you’re riding is great 🏍️💨
@@RavyDavythank you 😊🫶🏼
Good luck Tommy
I appreciate it, thanks 👍
Importantly, have you chosen a big bike for when you pass ?? 😁
Haha pretty much. I've saved up the required funds but I might add a bit more before diving in. Being on an island even buying a bike is a bit of a pain if the local dealer doesn't have exactly what you want so I want to get the right one from the off 👌
@@TwoWheelsTommy treat yourself to a day in Hampshire off the island and feel free to use my skills going to different dealerships. Ps, I also have a house in cowes so I feel your pain lol
@twinpotracer Thanks, I'll bear that in mind! It would be nice to ride some bigger roads again that's for sure. Not over for Cowes week then? ⛵
Im watching from dubai 😅 , really enjoying seeing the progress, I’m 33 years old and I bought a mt07 but I can’t ride it until I get my license so wish me luck
Hey Abdulla, thanks for watching! An MT07 will deifinitely spur you on to get your licence quickly! Good luck! 🚀
Congratz!!! I passed my MOD2 this morning! No more L plates for me! 😁👍🏻
Excellent news, must mean a new bike is on the cards?
I’ve got a cb125r, the younger brother to the one you were riding on your training. Going to be getting my mod 1 training and test done this month.
They are nice bikes, I wanted one as my first bike but there were none for sale locally (I live on an island) when I needed one so I got my 125F instead. Good luck with your training, you'll love the bigger bikes 😀🚀
Congratulations on passing that's mega!
Thank you, very pleased to have that out of the way!
I hope I learn as quick as you are
You'll be fine Morgan, just get out as much as you can. The first bit is the worst bit!
i think getting on my 50cc ped for the first time at 16 was my biggest feeling for freedom yet
I can imagine it was! 🚀🚀
Figured id chuck a question up for you, hopefully youll see it and reply. So i decided after years of waiting to get going on my motorcycle license, i drove a 125 for 2 years when i was younger and life forced me to give it all up and get a boring car.... well the time has come to get back on the bike! I have my CBT and theory all booked up but my main question is do you feel riding a 125 for the short space of time you did helped at all? Ive heard/been told/read so many contradicting things its wild how people say just do the DAS without the 125 as youll learn bad habbits etc or thats what the DAS is for to train you to pass. Do you feel if you hadnt had your 125 you would still be at the point your at now on your direct access course or do you feel you wouldve needed more training? Thanks in advance if you do answer
Forgot to say been loving your videos 😁
Alright Chris, glad you like the videos! The DAS is a weird setup. In an ideal world you can knock out a DAS in a short amount of time. This is great if you don't have commitments elsewhere and can commit a chunk of time to it. In reality you'll still likely end up waiting for test slots to come available and whatnot so why rush it unless you NEED that licence quickly? For example, over here we only have MOD 2 tests once every 2 weeks here so if you fail it can add a chunk to your timescale - that quick DAS quickly turns into a not-so-quick DAS. I have found having a 125 really helpful, just getting miles in here and there. I'm still doing a DAS course but it is spread out to suit my availability, which suits me as I have a young family, a business to run, and other responsibilities and things I want to do in my (rare) spare time! Riding a 125 is different to a big bike. People say riding a big bike is easier, and I agree - much more stable, just much more pleasant to ride. I will say I started this journey as I wanted a cheap way to get down the post office quickly, I honestly had no interest in motorcycles. But it got me by the balls and now I love the things. Why not get your CBT and see how you feel moving forward. If you steer clear of the cheaper Chinese 125's you'll likely sell a decent 125 for near what you paid for it when you move to a bigger bike so look at it as a very cheap rental whilst you learn the basics. Hope that helps. 😀
I'm doing my cbt tomorrow and just found your videos! This has eased my nerves so much thank you!
Nice one! If you still have time you might find this one helpful too. Good luck 💪 czcams.com/video/jhgosaVDVHs/video.html
How tall are you and does it fit you? I am 191cm (6'2-6'3), I have read about it being good for tall bikers but I don't have a dealership near me and want to know if it may fit.
Hey, I'm 5ft 11 - I can put my feet flat on the floor with a bend at the knee when sat on it. I belive it has quite a low seat height compared to others.
This tskes me back to my first solo ride, about 12 years ago. My first was a Honda Shadow VT125. I adored that little beauty. Had to sell my bike when my marriage ended a couple of years back. I didn't realise how much I missed it until I watched this. Hoping to be back on the saddle soon.
Hey, sorry to hear you had to sell your first bike. Thanks for watching, I hope soon will be the right time to buy another VT125 so you can relive the good times 😀🚀
Well done, congratulations!
Thank you very much :) 😀
Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
I agree, the whole process is wrong. My friend passed her bike test today - she is a fantastic rider but can't ride a proper big bike yet because of her age. If it was a car test she could drive a Ferrari!
Ever since getting my CBT at Pitstop, been on the Yamaha MT-125 for London commuting, will likely stick with that model and get an MT-07! Love the aggressive look, comfortable position and quick acceleration. Wonder what you'll pick!
Nice one, those MT's are nice bikes. I've not ridden one actually come to think of it! Shouldn't be too long until I start looking at some bikes 😀
Fair play to you mate. Happy riding 😊
Thanks mate, same to you 😀
