How do You Feel About Pratt Replacing Gaffalione on SL in This Race?

For me it’s either Sierra Leone or Mindframe.

I just don’t get why people keep thinking Sierra Leone is a near mortal lock to win this race? His best speed figs are absolutely no better than a number of other horses in here. Yes, he’ll have pace to run at in this race, but he had pace to run at in the Derby with a clean trip and failed there. Definitely a serious contender, but a near lock to win? Sorry, just not seeing it. Could easily see him winning it and could just as easily see him not winning it.

Loads of pace in this race. No easy early leads this time. 😀

Sierra Leone was merely beaten by Dornoch in the Ramsen Stakes but went on to better things while Dornoch regressed badly now SL was merely beaten by Mystical Dan and Mystical Dan has shown to regress in the Preakness Stakes does it mean SL will win the Belmont Stakes easily ? End of story

The belmont at saratoga will have more speed than the k.d. no other horses in k.d. inside the 12 even went. Really. And t.p wasn't even supposed 2be on lead but nobody went. And there were at least 5 that should of went or got positions. Really. That why preekness was won on lead. Most likely a closer in belmont at a mile n quarter.

One of the most intelligent statements I heard when I was just getting going in racing about 60 years ago (1964) was this,: “just remember, the horse is not a motorcycle.” I don’t think we’re going to see fierceness for a long time. He obviously has terrible hoofs and they tried to stretch things by using glue on shoes, but he stopped as if he’d been shot which means to me that his feet were hurting badly. With that owner, I guess you can never be sure the horse will be prime consideration, but let’s hope so. . If you’ve looked closely at Sierra Leone, he wings badly on the left front. You can see this best on the head. It’s a form of instability, and I wonder if he wasn’t sore when he was lugging in and laying all over Forever Young. I’m not sure that he sound even with that defect, and he may be getting some rest. Kenny McPeak is a good Horseman and at the top of his game right now. Torpedo Anna is a very nice Filly and he doesn’t want to risk breaking her by running her against the Colts.. my guess is he takes her in the acorn and is glad to get it.. I think this is a very weak year for three-year-olds maybe the worst in a decade or two. It may be that something we’ve never even heard of jumps up and wins the “Belmont“ at the wrong track and the wrong distance. I’m having trouble working out much enthusiasm about it.

I think stewards going to be tight on Sierra Leone when he runs other horses off road like in bluegrass and derby. Seize the grey and mystik Dan continue to be disrespected which is fine. Thorpedo Anna is winner but if not in, stg/mystic box exacta including if muth runs.

You have Seize the Gray, sold for $300,000 ...I watched this young colt enter the ring....Cute as a button, good bloodline worth every penny .... Sierra Leone sold for $2.3 million, picture perfect, Gun Runner bloodline but has yet to earn beyond sale price, few years left, breeding will determine if this colt can stand the test of time .. Mystic Dan never sold at auction, home grown, poor strategy, weather conditions, track held this colt back in the Preakness...Best to All ......

A mile and a half is the mark of a true champion . Seize the Gray won the Preakness which was a mile and three sixteenths , Mr Lukas said he could have went a mile and a quarter that day . If he does enter the Belmont Stakes at Saratoga he’ll have three weeks rest to go the mile and a quarter , and he will have two straight victories under his belt , the other in the Pat Day Mile . Wayne Lukas has a lot of Triple Crown races that he’s won to his credit , I wouldn’t underestimate him in the Belmont Stakes . This horse looks like he’s just getting better as he goes , a mile , a mile and three sixteenths . A mile and a quarter ?

Gonna be lackluster and uninspiring, IMO being it's only 1.25. 1.5 is what makes the Belmont the Belmont. I'll still watch, still bet, etc. I'm glad a TC isn't on the line, and I hope there isn't one in 2025 or 2026 either.

Man catching freedom really wants to run . His fourth in the derby was like a light workout. He’s tearing down the barn andCox knows this. He never runs a horse back this quickly but he knows catching freedom is absolutely jumping out of his skin. I feel for the others , catching freedom should be 1/5. Sorry Brad!

Great Analysis Trifecta box 3-5-8 Mystic Dan likes a wet track, Chad Brown has won this race at least twice, Freedom horse was 4th in the derby so what am I missing? Imagination 9 will go to the lead and he is unproven in going this distance Good Luck everyone!
