Syncopation For The Sake Of Syncopation? #drums
Was making it as confusing as possible the goal for who ever wrote this piece of music? Can anyone tell me why someone would write this rhythm like this in the comments... I'll pin the best answer!!! lol

8:6 vs 4:3 Polyrhythm Explained (Full Video) #drums
zhlédnutí 574Před dnem
Here's the entire reply... Sure…outside of context… absolutely… but you can make the same case for other rhythms as well. You could say 16 notes are just like 8th notes two times. But when you add context, the 16th will sound twice as fast in that same timeframe… so if you play a 4:3 next to an 8:6 inside the same time frame… The 8:6 would also sound twice as fast. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Subs...

FR¿!? Me too same birthday
Happy Birthday, Jay and thanks for the stuff you show.❤
Hi Jay. Definitely Happy Birthday 2U & those are super nice chops. Btw, your feel for Swing makes me jealous.
Steve Gadd!!
What finally clicked for me was thinking about it as “aaand-a-one… aaaand-a-two… aaand-a-one, two, a-one two three four (down beat)
To an awesome drummer, and drum educator! Happy Birthday Jman! 🎉
Happy Birthday!!! Like another comment said, you are the only reason I can play polyrhythms
THE drum groove of the 70s. Drummers of a certain age romantically remember bar fights started over the sticking pattern. 😂 So simple, yet incorporates so many tenents of percussion. 🥁❤️🤘
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday man🎉🎉 your the only reason I can play poly rhythms
First happy birthday and second is the traditional grip just used for like show or is it how you are supposed to hold the stick
Adds the intended impact, yes or yes 🤔
Happy birthday!! I love your sound its very reminiscent of people like vinnie and dave weckl whilst also being unique at the same time. Who do you think does influence you the most?
Happy birthday Jay!

Nailed it! Way better than my version
If you said nothing and just do this as a beat I maybe could do it too, but I know to much now and will never be able to.
Thanks for the tips🇮🇪👍
That’s why I always miss it in Karaoke.
These are more rock than blues beats.
Save the bugs 😂
Those beetles are destroying my roses! So the toad can have as much as he wants! 😂
It's literally the same
Que gran pérdida de tiempo mirar este video
If you listen again to the part right before the pause, the last hihat hit and pad note introduce an intentional slowing of the tempo. If you follow that new tempo into the pause, the tom hit matches perfectly before the chorus begins again with the tempo back to normal. That's what I hear anyway.
Absolutely right
So.. its all about rythme section
Iconic drum part!
damn that left hand
Hey Jay. I could listen to this all day. Great execution, feel, & phrasing.
Drummer here, I too was deceived and confused laughing the first time hearing this intro
Just watch the hats. 🙂🤘
The average MuseScore transcription... Those 2 bpm tempo changes too. Lol. Also, what is that on the 3rd beat of measure 155? Oh, and also the two staccato dots on top of the 2nd and 3rd notes... Actually, my guess is that this is just a standard drum roll (because of how fast the tempo is). They just notated it in a way that makes the playback sound as accurate as possible (this is the explanation behind 99% of weird notations on MuseScore). You shouldn't even be counting any 16th note triplets here. It's just a simple drum roll notated in an overly complicated way. If someone gave me something like this, I would refuse to play it and tell them to learn how notation works. Sometimes it's just better not to waste your time trying to figure out what a random MuseScore user tried to communicate with their weird notation, and either listen to the recording or buy an official score. (I mean, if this is how they decided to notate such a simple musical idea, the score is also most likely full of other mistakes.) All in all, when looking up scores on MuseScore, you should assume that at least 95% of them are made by people who don't know what they are doing.
Would you like to sharing about the technique for playing 16th note subdivision at your right hand? Is it moeller or what? Because never get comfortable with that 😢
Great job, sounds awesome!
Fantastic. Now how am I gonna get to sleep? ❤
The only people that you to get lost are metal chicks looking for a one night hook up! Love it!❤
It's too sexy! Now I'll get all the chicks! Thanks, Pimpin' Jay!❤😅
As a drummer, it's never too late to start groovin'
Very cool 😎
Hello Jay. A classic, done correctly w/left hand on the hats. Reminds me of "Lenore".
Nicely done, Jay, 50 ways/Gadd. I always taught that one, too, along with Jeff Porcaro's Rosanna groove. Keep it up, Jay!
As soon as I heard that beat I said: 50 ways 😮👍
You must be a... _genius._
It's funny to me how they managed to make one of their rhytmically simplest songs and yet throw so many people off 😂
So what is the difference called? Tempo change?
This is a lot harder than it looks 😅😅
love it! sheet music please. i want to try
Sounds like close to Steve Gadd!
쫀득하다

Super Sunday ! ❤
Shit poppin dog keep it up
