I totally understand yes. Especially early game!!!! Go for who helps you get through the content as a starter, then pull whoever you like. I pulled Jing Yuan in hsr not because i loved him, but I needed a dps to do the job after losing on seele's banner. Now one year later, I can clear almost all content simply by having pulled a mix of characters I love (Kafka, Black swan, Acheron, upcoming Jade & Jiaoqui) and characters that improve my account (Huo huo & aventurine). Now ofcourse pulling sparkle or ruan mei would add more to my acc than Jade, but since I'm already late game with easy clears up until at least moc 11 etc (last floors are a gamble lmao), I 100% go for characters I love. I do have a friend that only pulled for characters they liked from the start... They can't even pass the story bosses now.

The way i see it the more characters i get the better I will have more options to form teams and those characters may come in handy in the future so ima get both zhu and elen

Iv been playing gacha since FGO I feel you need to strike a balance between what you "want" and what you "need" specially if your favorites aren't top dog meta. Yeah waifu over meta but you need enough meta to be able to farm all the rewards so you can get the waifu in the future so sometimes you gotta bite the bullet with a character you don't like. Im just gonna cite Ruan Mei in HSR as an example... don't like the character but she make stuff happen.

I lowkey feel this game has better husbando-waifu bait gameplay more than Genshin and HSR combined. Not saying what you're saying is false, but the urge to pull the characters that I love is just great 😂

But I have this magical card with magical numbers that allows me to get everything I want. I don't know how it works but its does. lol

Especially since hoyo is not known to be a generous company so you definitely need to be very careful about who you pull for 😃

Yep I notice when some people pull who they like some of them super casual star rail players with 5 dps and no supports or tanks and then complain not beating end game content . People miss pull your fav character and build around them

It's funny how I read your titles, get triggered, then watch your video and agree with you. Pulling for the characters you like THE MOST is definitely the most important thing, be it for personality reasons or for gameplay reasons. But as you said, if someone tries to just get every single character, they'll eventually fail unless they've got Aventurine levels of luck.

Sadly i can only do 300 dollars worth of pulls last game i played was ark nights years ago and am excited for ZZZ and am going to pull Ellen. I love ice base characters plus my fav animals are sharks so shes perfect.

Definitely advice I couldve used when starting star rail, I ended up using all my starting pulls on characters that just don't work that well together just bc I liked them 😭😭

Yeah, you absolutely cannot just pull whoever you like all the time. It's a balance of favoritism and strength, pull for you're favorite and then pull for the supports/Dps that makes them shine the most and yeah, you're favorite doesn't have to be a dps and if so, them make them the strongest support they can be within your capabilities and get the dps the best fit with In genshin I LOVE Layla, her shield would impress even Donald Trump and his wall!

I agree pulling who you like is bad advice in general at least until you get enough meta units too the point where you can comfortably pull whoever you want

Unless you are completely sold on either of the current limited characters, I recommend just saving in patch 1.0. 1.0 banners will be the first to rerun, and the practice of saving will form a better habit than starting off your time with the game visiting the gacha everytime you can. In addition, the 'shiny new toy' effect is real. Let the base characters satisfy that urge during 1.0. Then once a brand new character is drip marketed that you really want, you can guarantee a copy of them.

I perfectly understand your stated point of view, I did the same on HSR with Ruan Mei, I'm not really a fan of the character but I played a lot around the break gameplay, so I pulled her to improve the gameplay, and now that a meta is in place with Firefly and the MC around the break, I am very happy to have her, even if I don't like her too much even today...

Really good content, keep it up :) Most F2P players don't really care about the endgame, more precisely about MoC 11-12 or Pure Fiction 3-4, etc. Most regular "players" will only play the story content and events, and they don't care much more. They have fun for a few minutes a day, I would be very surprised if future story chapters could not be played with only A agents with a finger in their nose :D So, for most players, it's pretty good advice, just pull whatever character you like. The problem is more when I like each one :D This advice isn't really that good for the minority of endgame players. Personally, I plan to focus only on one or two factions, I will ignore the rest, I don't care if I beat the top of the endgame, I will enjoy the story and the characters.

I agree that most of us need to wait. I love Ellen, but there Myabi and pink hair glass girl, that i am in full love. So, i wait 1.1 drip market, and then decide if i will pull Ellen or not.

This will be my first time playing a gacha on release. Building an account from Day 1 of a games lifecycle has always interested me. You just gotta accept the fact that you won't get every character you want. Do you think pulling weapons is ever worth it for a F2P? Keep up the grind.

I think the problem with people saying that 'Zenless Zone Zero character designs look bad' is that most people saying this are fans of the other MihoYo games. They're people that think that the designs of Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact look good. The thing is, I believe that Zenless Zone Zero is not made with the idea to appease fans of MiHoYo's other games. I think it's pretty clear that the goal of Zenless Zone Zero is to try to pull in players like myself that didn't really jive with their other titles. They seem to be aiming for fans of DMC, specifically, what with the kind of grungy look that a lot of characters have to their outfits, and the gameplay, obviously. As well the extremely present and bombastic soundtrack in the game. I want to be clear. It's okay to not like the character designs and prefer Genshin Impact/Star Rail's. And I'm not saying 'the game isn't for you' if you prefer Genshin Impact or Star Rail. I'm simply saying that I think you aren't the main target audience. To me, Star Rail and Genshin Impact's character designs are way too much. I'd consider them 'overdesigned' in my opinion. Whereas ZZZ's character designs are just what I look for.

Great video. In my opinion, pulling for Ellen would mostly be smarter if you luckily get Lycaon on the beginner banner (or if you somehow get him before her banner goes away). Pulling for her after choosing Lycaon on the selector would probably be too late; I'm sure there will be much better options to pull for by then.

I honesty hope that this is the case so that both the characters and the bang boos are useful and fun too play as also the bang boos are a free currency too get them the currency is free so that’s cool too

Out of the characters given guaranteed for free, what team do you think is best to focus on/invest? Obviously the standard S-rank we get can influence choices, but thinking for what to use until a limited S-rank has me wanting to pull.

Good or Bad I'm going to collect all the waifu of the game, for example like HSR from the beginning Stelle best at the beginning of the game but later on you won't even going to use her because we have Acheron and Firefly as DPS that has AOE.

I regretted not having 5-Stars in HSR and got lucky when I pulled Jiyan early in WuWa. The difference in QoL is night and day. I don't care that Jinhsi does more damage, Jiyan is simply a smoother experience. Ellen looks to be the same. The only hesitation I have is the weapon and a seeming lack of alternatives. Seems like we'd have to get both which would require $$$ so I might end up sitting her out and just put everything into Zhu Yuan banners
