The whole "まだまだぜんぜん" mentality in Japan is the exact reason Japan isnt good at anything. Most skills require confidence to develop. As an English teacher in Japan is so frustrating dealing with Japan's self-sabotaging attitude for skill acquisition. Phrases like "I can't speak English" or reactions like "難しい" to simple tasks really hold these people back.

i really appreciate you using japanese without subtitles(in the video). i was eating and so didnt feel like clicking for captions lol, and it turned out i understood most of what you said! if you had put subtitles, i most definitely wouldnt have had the same experience i died at the tameguchi part lol. too much unknown vocab for me, i got lost

I’m not Japanese but I’m learning it in school and here’s what I think: Use が to mark the subject of the sentence as the thing **before** が For example, in the sentence ケーキが好きです, ケーキ (cake) is the subject of the sentence, and 好き (like) is the verb. So we use が to indicate that the ケーキ is the subject of the sentence. In the other case, we use は when putting the emphasis and point in what comes **after** the は. So in the sentence, 僕は学生です, we’re putting emphasis on 学生 (student) as that is the main point. Please do correct me if wrong
