Why must it be fear of God that facilitates obedience to God and humility? Why can't it instead be love for God that instead sees us have desire to follow God and be humble in that following? Is it not that which Jesus taught?
One could say it is both fear and love of God, but most definitely we don't mean fear of God as in being scared, rather we mean reasonable respect of God.

St Augustine closely follows the Bible and even some of the Church Fathers on his doctrine of predestination. Neither were his views ever rejected by the Catholic Church. So, I am not sure on what basis you are accusing him of error, or what that error is supposed to be.

I have a friend who was exploring Orthodoxy and was coming to Divine Liturgies regularly for about 7 months. Recently, in a pseudo-intellectual attempt to “stay open minded” he has taken a deep dive into gnostic heresies and has completely stopped going to Church. Heretics need to realize that even if somehow they are right (because it’s impossible to know right from wrong when you’re in deep delusion), leaving the Church is the wrong response. I say this about Coptics and R.Catholics too. Even if their heresies were correct, leaving the Church was giving victory to the devil.

Sola Scriptura is the mother of all heresies because it tries to distill the entire deposit of faith into a finite canon that can allow anyone to come up with any private interpretation as long as they can explain away a handful of problem texts and recontextulize everything else to fit the contrived system that most closely aligns with what you currently believe the text means as you understand it.
