I'm having a helluva time trying to get this bike to go around a corner and I feel the low and very wide handlebar might be contributing to it. We tried the ATV High handle bar and it was great except the bars are too high and is making it hard to launch the bike. So we try the CR High Bend out and it doesn't go so well.

useless in terms of removing a carburetor. One of the worst videos I’ve seen.
Do you sleep?
For everyone's information he did not make it look more difficult than it is. This pad design needs to be discontinued. It's the dumbest design giving you zero tolerance to slide the second pad in. I think these can damage pistons by people scraping the prongs forcing it by the pistons. They can take the four singles with the pin going across just save yourselves the headaches and only buy those style of pads. These things are a nightmare
Yeah I'm not a big fan of these you have to get the pad in at just the right angle and there's not much room to get the second pad in. There is another pad that uses 4 individual pads and a pin/bolt that holds the pads in but I haven't tried it yet.
Totally agree. Big pain in the ass

water-resistance?
You made a mistake - before pressing the terminals of the press, it was necessary to remove the varnish and scrape the varnish off the copper wire, otherwise the current would flow weakly through the varnish coating along the veins and the wires would heat up greatly

fantastic video, thanks man!
I like the way he showing us how to replace the pad but his whole head is blocking the video
You’re one of the last blog posting alta riders, keep it up for all of us looking to buy one used, im considering it but im definitely discouraged by the lack of mod-ability to the battery of these bikes and the inability to procure backup batteries
There is someone in SF that can repair the batteries so I'm no too worried if mine fails. From what I hear the A packs are more reliable than the R packs also and my SM has the A pack. It would be nice if the batteries could be upgraded like with 21700 or higher capacity batteries. I haven't heard of anyone doing that though.
Nice video…what’s better the warp 9 or the DB primary drive kit or another?
They're the same I like them both the Warp9 looks cooler.
@@hadesomegamoto7639 thanks. I mainly go on trail rides in San Gabriel mountains. I have a stock 2024 Surron LBX (60v 40ah). Only thing I changed was the tube because got a flat on day 2. But, honestly think it’s because psi was at 30. Now, run it at 20 psi and no flats. Any upgrades you recommend for my activity or should I just leave it stock and just buy pads, tubes, and tires (as needed)?
@@Alex-oy6wb If you do a lot of trail riding and very difficult trails I would suggest getting a 16" rear wheel and run a rim lock. That's what I have for my dirtbike setup. I run 12psi, the Light Bee is so light that 12psi is plenty of air and gives better traction and shock absorption. To run it that low you need a rim lock though. Also the wheel will be smaller and wider you'll get more torque. Also for a stock sur ron I would suggest a larger sprocket like 54 tooth or even 60 tooth if you stay on the dirt all the time. It will climb steep trails much easier. Climbing is not one of the Light Bee's strong suits. Also get handguards, the full ones with the metal bar to help protect your brake levers if you drop your bike. Tusk D-Flex handguards is what I use. Also keep and eye on the headset bearings, make sure they are tight and don't have play.
@@hadesomegamoto7639 thanks… so keep the stock front wheel/tire? Also, which 16 inch wheel/tire do you recommend? Note: I heard the new tusk 19 inch ground wire e moto tire is good. Have you tried? czcams.com/video/lio2E5scy2A/video.htmlsi=lZzGzelKEgfQJBJb
Flying on that thing Merlin!
I think hammer is the best way. Then you can gently hit it from a lot of angles and not just push it out in the same WRONG angle and ovalize the hole. Also, I use cooling spray. Ethyl Chloride, or "the good stuff" as they would say in the 80's, when it was a popular recreational inhalant.
Never thought I'd hear an Armored Core soundtrack on a motorcycle racing video! Great choice.
If it's not copyrighted I use it =P I love Armored Core
Awesome! Wish I could ride like that, lol. Merlin, looking good on your Alta!
Transponders weren't picking up riders in the first row, so we moved everyone back
What was mph on those passes?
I believe the bushing-only hole is for attachment at the swingarm and the needle bearing hole is for the linkage at the bottom rear of the frame. Maybe the former sees a lot less movement? My KLX140 linkage had no visible grease after six months of light use. Thanks for posting this video. It was helpful.
6.5.24 Merlin, good finish. Liken those graphics
6.5.24 Merlin, I like the graphics being displayed. To bad could not pass Jordan on the straights. Looked like you had more power. Rotten luck on the flat tire. What caused the tire to go flat? How does Jordan’s bike make so much power for 65cc?
He's just a really fast rider he races against the pros. Also this track favors bikes with fast turn in it's a really short track. The 65s have 12" wheels and short wheelbase so they turn in faster. Make no mistake 65s are fast with the right rider but they don't have a lot of torque so that's how I can smoke em on the start and keep up with them. They need to maintain corner speed. The flat tire I haven't looked at I'm gonna take a look at it tonight I have a new tube to put in it already. I'll probably post a video about it.
What brakes are you running? I think a little stronger brakes could help especially on that corner you almost over ran a couple times. I saw you using your thumb regen does it have much effect on battery and controller temps? Great try and I think you have probably pushed your Surron harder in more race conditions than anyone else definitely harder than anyone else on CZcams! Lol
Yeah its terrifying riding this bike with this much power with these brakes and it messes me up riding the Redshift because that bike has fantastic brakes. I have to brake really early with the Light Bee and it allows others to outbrake me. I'm running Magura MT5 brakes with a stock sized floating front rotor. I've neglected upgrading to a bigger rotor because I would have to buy 3 rotors because I have 3 sets of wheels but I think now is the time to get the rotors. And yes the regen is a double edged sword. It helps you slow down and recharges the battery but yes it heats up the battery. So it's good to use the mechanical brakes if it's getting hot. But the Chi battery is incredible its taken everything I can throw at it won't overheat. I can only imagine how good the Max battery is.
Just finished the video, I was the one who told you my bike blew up.
Aww that sucks. That was a steep hill at least my bike is a lot lighter. Thanks for watching. Did you get it all sorted out?
@@hadesomegamoto7639 So basically my bike seized pretty far down that hill. I left it there and walked up to tell my dad what happened. Since my bike was still on that hill, I walked back down from the pits (this is what i’m doing in the vid), to get my bike. I waited by my bike till the checked flag was out and walked it up the hill so I could get a pin and not a DNF.
I had to walk up the same hill 😂 Hard times.
6.3.24 Where was spot 1 and 2 in this race? Nobody lined up. Why did you not have the bigger battery installed for more power? Did you miss the turn and go off track? No giving advantages to the other riders.
That's the way they told us to grid. I guess since there were less racers in this class they spread us out more. I didn't put the bigger battery because I was saving it for the main races. It didn't get me very far though... I didn't miss the turn I couldn't slow the bike down fast enough. The brakes are awful on the Light Bee it's terrifying trying to get it to slow down after a long straight. I think I'm going to have to at least get a bigger rotor soon.
Any opinions on running the 219 chain version of this? Trying to figure out which one may run quieter.....the Warp with the noise reducing coating or just the thinner 219 chain?
219 chain is quieter but I hated it. It was high maintenance and didn't last long. Every time I ride it needs to be tightened and lubed. Also 420 chains are much easier to find and easier to install because you can easily break them.
@@hadesomegamoto7639 Thanks dude, exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. So many other people were like "either is fine" but it didnt seem like they had experience with both. I'm about to dive in on wiring up my Domino throttle, which is how of course I found your channel. Is there anything that can be done with the extra 2 wires and the microswitch? I have an EBMX-9000 controller.
@@JESSEverything I was thinking of doing something with the wires but I never did. I have an X-9000 now also and it works fine EXCEPT for some reason when I am calibrating it doesn't record the voltages right. I kept on trying until I got the voltages close to real voltages. If you can get the password you can manually input the voltages also. It's easy to check the min and max voltages using the diagnostic mode.
@@hadesomegamoto7639 What did you expect the voltages to be at vs. what they registered as? I did the throttle setup on my stock throttle as well as with the regen brake and one ended up at like 0.85 min and the other was like 0.86 and a maximum of 4.30 on both. The default settings in the controller before I did the setup was 0.9 min and 4.30 max.
@@JESSEverything It differs between throttles. That's why you need to do a recalibration.
6.3.24 Great start Merlin 11th to 3rd! Are you using the battery? I was thinking for sure you could gain or pass these guys on the straights.
Yeah unfortunately the straights not very long at this track. Just enough to open the throttle up for 2 seconds. Tough competition too.
I bent mine and craked the welds, repaired it but I will buy a used swing arm and reinforce it af
Helpful insight on the COM port conflict. Any idea where to source the serial by USB for a KO Moto controller?
Luckily since they came out with the phone app I never used this again. You'd probably have get the cable through KO.
