I think the anime fundamentally changes L and Light's relationship though. Or at least, visually implies as such. Because L's eyes and his expression during his death really are some of the most expressive moments we see of him- and maybe it's remorse for not having proved to the force Light was Kira, but...I dunno it still feels like it was more than that. There's more nuance in perhaps yes, L never saw Light as a friend...but maybe he could have wanted to, at least in the way of there being finally someone who could challenge him.

This is kinda a perfect fight for the androids. Limitless stamina mixed with the no kill rule is pretty strong, and being able to hide is massive when ur talking about a massive brawl, not to mention the versatility of his abilities.

To understand the difference between near and L, you have to understand the science of emotion vs logic. Those two things can’t coexist. If you’re emotional, you’re irrational. If you’re rational, you lack emotion. You can’t be both at the same time. L let emotion get in the way and that’s why he lost. It was the emotions of the task force. Near didn’t have any of these handicaps. Nears team did exactly what he said without fighting him. The Japanese task force kept getting in the way of L. You could say that they were actually responsible for Ls death. Nears success and abilities not only made sense, but it wouldn’t have taken very much to put the pieces together, considering all the information he had to work with. Near is by far my favorite character.

The biggest plot hole for me, was if a small power level saiyan like Napa or radditz can blow up a planet, why don’t the likes of cell, freiza, or majin buu just blow up the planet the second the tables start turning on them? Do they have some sort of pride they have to prove? They should be able to tell the fight is about to end and it’s time to blow up the planet. Cell did try this by blowing himself up, but freiza could literally blow up planets in an instant with the tip of his finger. If cell is that much stronger, he shouldn’t have to blow up a planet by blowing himself up.
