I was able to stop the leak using a 3/32 allen wrench to remove the handle and lubricating the cartridge using silicone grease aka plumber's grease.

Uh, vacuum is read in inches or mm of Hg. Yours was reading about 7 inches of Hg- NOT psi. In psi, the vacuum would read 14.2521446032 inHg>

is the low pressure side the pipe that returns to the compressor? you did not totally cover that. you took some insulation off a pipe then went to it. so I want to try this but want to be sure I've got the right pipe. thanks for the video

I like this idea. Especially in a pinch for a temp solution. however, I suggest just referring to it as a vertical smoker instead of a kamado. A kamado is ceramic and egg shaped by definition if I have my info correct.

Lou, this is stupid and DEADLY. One backfire and this setup will EXPLODE. DO NOT DO THIS!!! You MUST use a gas pressure/flow REGULATOR and a flame arresting intake manifold. This assinine setup is like playing Russian Roulette with five rounds chambered.
