Did it work for digging through roots? I need to do that. I can't dig with a bar and shovel, the roots are just too tough. Did you use an electric power washer? 0 degree nozzle?

Digging a separate hole for a pump downhill I can pump the water out onto grass may work. A digger may also be needed due to my back. I was going to use a karcher K6 electric. It wouldn't have as much power as this but I originally planned digging to the roots. water blasting them clean and then using an electric chainsaw on the roots. The roots are a native hardwood and are extremely tough, a lot around 6 inches in diameter.
This also prevents you from cutting pipes or wires accidentally
I was thinking about doing this around my foundation to add extra water proofing and rigid insulation.
I had to go about 15 feet along the foundation of the red barn, and it works great to get all the mud off the concrete too.

Super narrow. You want highest possible pressure in a thin knife-like stream
