I suggest sellers not to listen to these real estate agents and accept offers if they are 25% to 35% below, otherwise in the next few days you won't even get them that easily. Pandemic is over, unemployment money and pay check protection program is gone, interest rates will stay near 6 because CD rates are above 5%, Lumber (USD/1000 board feet) going towards historical low 566 in March 2024 and in April 2021 it was 1500, lastly there is nothing in area to justify these vlogs. Yeah, this is the area we've been researching. RDU is an expensive area. Might as well buy a new home with these prices. Wait!!! We are totally disappointed with this development, OMG. Too expensive for what they offer. Where is the tub ... NO TUB - over $550K. One car parking in front of garage (hse. too close to the street). Just wait till kids get cars, the street will be a parking lot. An HOA nightmare, if parking overnight on the street isn't allowed. I'm glad you showed us this... I actually agree with the need for a six figure salary to live comfortably in Raleigh- particularly, if you’re renting alone, own a car, and carry student loan debt. Rent is insane (for this region) now. A high five-figure salary may suffice for someone who does little outside of work/school, though.

I moved to North Carolina 5 months ago from San Diego California .It's ok it has it's up's and downs just like everywhere .My sister has been out here for about 13 years she loves it and she had been telling me to move out here for almost 10 years she kept saying the cost of living is much lower than California but I kept telling her that i really didn't like the East Coast as far as living there but that is was ok to visit .After 28 years at my job I got fired so i decided to give NC a try was the worst that can happen I can always go back west .I always told my sister it's the same shit cost of living might be lower in NC but the wages are lower and California cost of living is higher but the wages are higher .I'm living with my sister here in NC I want to get my own place but I can't afford it making $15.00 Dollars an hour .In California my rent was $2,600 per month with a car payment of $1009.00 per month and living by myself I was doing great.I think you can do great in NC if you are a person of money or you have a good degree ,your personal business ,a trade or you get a job transfer .So I'm thinking why not go back to a place I love even though it's more expensive than be at a place that I really don't care much for it even though it's cheaper ,I still not a good deal for me because I can't afford my own place.I think the average joe/jane will make between $12.00 HR - $19.00HR here in NC .Unless Like I stated above Degree,trade,etc etc .

If Raleigh would build highrise condos and build along Hwy 40 and 70 towards Durham it would make a Huge difference in the way the area is perceived. Thats all it would take. But Raleigh is so slow. Too much politics and Red tape to get things done. I was born and raised in Raleigh class of "91" Millbrook. I lived in Charlotte for 10 years. I like Raleigh its laid back a real chill vibe. Beautiful women but they just stay inside so its hard to meet them.

In the same way that Wake County is physically larger and should hold more people than Mecklenburg, the same is true for Charlotte and Raleigh. Charlotte has a bloated city limits size. Raleigh cannot annex that much additional land to ever catch up to that land size, and will always be the second largest city proper in the state.

You may already know this now, but Guilford County is the Greensboro area and Forsyth County is the Winstom-Salem area. From what I've heard, both areas are great places to live. They're like the Raleigh and Durham of the Piedmont/Triad region of NC.

I live in South Jersey and thinking of moving to Holly Springs, NC...the rental and homes in NJ aren't worth the money and I prefer a nice, safe, quiet area. I'll be 60 next week so peace and quiet is important to me.
