    Hey Chris....aka Mr. Kemimoto.... we have had the rain...............omg...............fished last week at Lake Lavon. Caught 4 Blues and three catfish (channels) while throwing my castnet for shad...what a pain. Threw them back. Also caught 15 or so sandbass that I threw them back. They appeared to be around 10 inchs. Using Light spincast reel....actually a Piscifun rod and reel....luv light action rods. Wish I had my ultra lights with me at the time but I was really just focuing on Blues. Caught the sandbass on Rooster Tails...white...1/6 was the size. LIke almost every cast...that is so much fun...it's like therapy. Hang in there Cool Breeze and be careful out there.

Tried to catch some gar today but with the lake levels being so high the gar didnt cooperate. Going to get out there again soon so I can put some good content up. Thanks for watching. I got the foam pad racks for my Catch Mode 110 however my parents won't let me put my kayak up my 2011 Honda Civic LX on there because they are afraid that I might break the side of my windows, dent the roof top, and/or fall off from my car. Maybe I should get the other roof top brand called Yakima they have this attachment to where it hooks onto the side of my car as a actual roof rack but omg how much money that the separate parts are and so I guess Imma have to grind up some more money to afford a Yakima roof rack attachment for my 2011 Hond Civic LX.

    • @fishingistherapy

      Yes I have an external deep cyle battery i hook it to that runs all my electric i have hooked to my 5 gang switch panel. I have it setup under the rear seat hatch. Its a simple 2 ring terminal hook up direct to the battery. Also I would recommend electric eith power tilt so you dont have reach back and adjust it manually but it doesn't bother me to have to do it manually plus I have a manual jackplate that I can adjust on the fly. But I had the extra money I would get the power tilt and trim, just have to makensure your battery doesnt die because I have heard many people frustrate with not being able to tilt and trim or electric start on the water.

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy Před 4 dny

      Once when it was about 35 degrees out it took a couole pulls but when its warm out and the fuel pump is primed it takes 1 on average maybe 2. I don't own a boat so I don't really have a use for them, but it amazes me how so many boat owners neglect something like this. My lake is very shallow with no current and there's barely any wake from boating since nobody goes fast, but when the wind whips up there are some boats that absolutely crunch against the side of the dock (especially ones that have a slip right at the end). It's not like these are too expensive. It beats dented aluminum or messing up some fiberglass. Definitely worth the investment.

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy Před 7 dny

      If you have round gunwales then you might want to try the curve ones, but the flat ones can work for sure on the rounded gunwalesband definitely on flat gunwale or miunting surface you just have to mark your spot really well before drilling, but I wanted that extra grip on the surface area so I went with what you see. I have the catch 100 but I’m thinking about a) selling mine and getting the 110 or 120. Or b) build my own/buy outriggers to stabilize the yak By chance have you ever owned the 100? Or know someone who’s owned the 100

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy Před 8 dny

      I have not owned a 100, but have seen and got feedback from guys on the water sbout it, they have stability issues and tracking issues. I initially planned to get a 100 but after looking into the 110 and the upgrades for ghe money it was a no brainer. Now i have gotten good feedback once stabilizers and after market skeg were added, but I didnt want to do that as it coukd hurt the resale value with all the holes in yak that would be needed. I would say if you have the extra money go for the 110, if your a good diy guy and have the tools necessary then it could make sense for the 100.

    Great build. Those cig plugs go out too easily. Even the "good" ones only last a couple years. Cut those off, and rig your stuff with 12 gauge 2 pin quick disconnect plugs. I have been wiring john boats for over 20 years and have never had to replace one that wasn't grossly abused.

    • @fishingistherapy

      Thanks for sharing your wisdom and expertise. I have since this video switched to 12 Guage 2 pin quick disconnect as it give me the ability to connect or disconnect different batteries. That's valuable, I will keep this in mind when doing any wiring with a cig plug involved.

    I had not seen the back pack, I am familiar with that company. I was actually thinking about making a back pack for both of the seats in the Jon boat, thought it would be fun to have, you sold it. Thanks for sharing this with us, see up the fun videos. dale

      Thanks Dale, glad you like the video. I use the backpack everything I go out. It has become an important part of my trip. The plano tackle box I plan to use, I store it in the backpack so I dont have to go digging for my baits. Stay tuned more to come!

      Its called the KEMIMOTO boat seat backpack. Its awesome, has a waterproof ziper design that allows for water drainage at the bottom. I use the backpsck every trip and to put my bait boxes in a convenient fast access area. The link is the first one in the description below the video.

    I have a 4 m long Finnish made fiberglass boat from the 70´s. Pretty light. I don´t know the exact weight, but I´d guess around 100 kg. I´ve been playing with props and I get about 54 kph. Pretty much the same with a modified 12" prop and a pretty standard 14" prop. The 12" gets on a plane faster but revs out at close to 6000. 14" prop is a bit slower to get on a plane, but revs to about 5600. 20 hp Yamaha 2-stroke DEO Autolube from about -90 with the exhaust bored out. I think I´ll cut the 14" a bit and maybe modify the cylinder head a bit. A solid 55 kph with a good holeshot would be enough. I have trim tabs fitted and ran the tests alone with about 30 kg of fuel, oars and basic gear. Without trim tabs the boat is scary, but could do another maybe 5 kph faster. I tried it and almost tore the stern off. After that I braced it quite a bit more. With extra 200 kg I still get about 45..48 kph. But I wish boats would have two gears at least, one to take off and one to to cruise.

      @fishingistherapy Před 20 dny

      Exactly, that would be great to have on an outboard. It would make fine tuning this process so much easier. I'm glad to hear you are getting good performance, I think we all want to squeeze as much speed out of the bait as possible.
