  • On today’s episode of Fishing Is Therapy we show you how to tie down and load a heavy kayak, the Pelican Catch Mode 110 on your roof rack or roof basket solo. I think this kayak has the best stability, overall build quality and fishability than any other kayak in its price range.

    Great video sir. Nicely done showing a chore we all have that’s not always fun. 😁👍

    I'll give you props for making this video like you said you would. You're a man of your word. And I like how straight to the point you are. I've got J-hooks on mine, but those straps look a lot more efficient and better than what came with mine so I think I'll upgrade. I've also got a load assist bar, but I definitely think I'll be getting a mat to protect the paint just in case. I don't think it would be an issue, but better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for making this quick and easy.

      A man has to stand by his word. I'm glad you appreciate the video and got value out of it. I had J-hooks at first but the speed and efficiency of the nrs straps made life much easier. I think the upgrade would be worth it. Always good to have you comment and stop by, I appreciate your support!

    I got the foam pad racks for my Catch Mode 110 however my parents won't let me put my kayak up my 2011 Honda Civic LX on there because they are afraid that I might break the side of my windows, dent the roof top, and/or fall off from my car. Maybe I should get the other roof top brand called Yakima they have this attachment to where it hooks onto the side of my car as a actual roof rack but omg how much money that the separate parts are and so I guess Imma have to grind up some more money to afford a Yakima roof rack attachment for my 2011 Hond Civic LX.

      Yeah that sounds like a good option, you have to do what you gotta do.

    Whats up man, does the yak advertised weight include the seat and accessories (rails etc)?

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy  Před měsícem

      Yes, I believe this is all included. Without the seat, it's a bit lighter, but the seat is so light it doesn't make a huge difference, especially when lifting it onto my roof basket. Hope that helps.

    What's on the bottom of your kayak? It looks like black strips have been glued on. Was that you or did the kayak come that way?

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy  Před 2 měsíci

      It's Kydex. I glued it on using gorilla adhesive tape and marine silicone. I show you exactly how I did it in this video.

    You don’t have to take the seat off, just use the strap from the kayak itself… go over the seat. It won’t fly open…

    • @fishingistherapy
      @fishingistherapy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Nice, that's a great tip. Doesn't it produce more wind noise with the seat on top?

      @@fishingistherapy in the bed of my truck, can’t even tell.. on top of a vehicle is different. your better off taking the seat off to reduce wind drag

      Yeah, I drove around the neighborhood with it on and it was very loud, so I just take it off now as a habit. Appreciate your insight though, I'm sure others will see your comment and find it helpful.

    Please, for the love of God, stop chewing gum with your mouth open while filming. Seeing people chew with their mouth open is bad enough but hearing it over the mic is really cringe. You have everything it takes to for a very successful channel. Please dude, I beg you, stop the chewing. I write this while trying not to sound disrespectful and hope it comes through as such. Keep up the good work.
