The Clapton signature Stratocaster is the absolute most powerful Humbucker in the world. With its stacked Humbuckers ( Vintage noice less), active circutry run by a battery and incredible 25 DB mid boost its between 25 to 30 times more powerful than a Gibson Les Paul Humbucker wise. Even with the the boost Off its a lot more powerful than a Gibson Les Paul Humbucker wise. Thats because Of the active circutry and stacked Humbuckers. Active circutry makes a guitar incredibly hot.

What does the S stand for?

The guitar ships with 10s, which is interesting when you see B.B. King play, which to me, looks like a set of 8s to get easy full tone steps.

I've never understood Humbuckers on a Tele. I know Keef has one but, still. Why not just pick up your Les Paul for that sound? I have a Performer and absolutely love it. I bought it on Reverb and in really great shape. It was the Sonic Blue model with rosewood kneck. The guitar looked great in the pictures but when it arrived I thought it looked so anaemic and washed-out. I played it for a while and just couldn't connect with it. Then I damaged the front and decided to have it stripped to it's bare wood with a satin finish. All professionlly done by some folks down in Oxted in the UK. It was just after lock-down so I was probably going a bit mental to be honest. I set it up myself (suprisingly well) and now I think I might own the greatest guitar on the planet. It's the most Telecastery Telecaster I've ever heard with a very subtle bit of fairy dust thanks to the Yosemite pick-ups. Performer guitars are beautiful. They market them as entry level American made guitars but they're just as good as the best of them. I'm sure I've ruffled some feathers here with guitarists much more accomplished than myself but I just wanted to add my tuppence worth.

I bought one of these second hand and have a few questions: Should there be a plastic bushing underneath the spring? Also, what would be the proper way of removing the tremolo arm so it doesn't bump the top of the case when closed? Thanx for any help.

I saw B.B. King and Halifax Nova Scotia back in 2000 and something. I had a guitar that I made painted on by a professional artist who put my guitar heroes on this guitar. One of the guitar hero she painted on was B.B. King also included or Jeff Beck Stevie Ray Vaughan Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy Joe Satriani And perhaps a few more I can’t remember. So I came to the concert to get B.B. King signature over his painting. At the end of the concert, he rushed out the back into a bus and I thought there’s no way I’ll now find him, and I was correct. The sad part was that the next day a person who worked for me had a wife that was responsible for the local hotel and she said she could’ve gotten me in no problem. Very disappointing and I’ll never forget this opportunity I missed. Anyway, my dream was always on a Lucille Guitar. I have 16 other guitars, but I do not have Lucille. Perhaps my plan should be to sell all the other guitars and buy the BB King Lucille.

I just bought that guitar and I'm loving it! Looks exactly like the guitar in this video, except mine is a 'Studio' model. I found the fretboard, intonation and action to be great, compared with other acoustics in the same price range. Nice colour and sound as well.

I’d love if Gibson made it in white as well. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. I know they make a custom shop light aged model of it, but I can’t afford that.

The camera cannot capture the beautiful, golden glow of the finish of this guitar. Mine is so very beautiful. I am amazed, and then I play it, and the sound is full and rich! Best money ever spent.

The issue with seagull and Godwin. The neck is epoxy to the body so a reset is practically impossible, plus the neck pocket to the body is poorly designed, I have a maritime sws and need a neck rest no one will touch it

just picked up the new 5A Quilted Maple 1piece top version from Gibson Custom Shop of this model... first time I spent 10K on a guitar, but damn was it worth it!

Has anyone installed one of these in a PRS SE McCarty 594? Seems like it would be a good combo. Gibson pickups + PRS SE's QC, playability and price point.

Front strap location sucks. Drilled a hole through the top horn and changed it.

That's the exact same one I bought. Right down to the color. Frets are trash.

Use the lightest strings you can find and tune it super low or you'll need a fret job real soon.

I owned an early Whitfill Tele back in 2013-14, and it was a great guitar. I wasn’t a Tele guy in the end, but for me, it set several standards that i continued to look for in my future guitars, such as the light weight, feel, and resonances. Great guitars.

Wrong pickup to begin a demo! Rattly.!!! Not nice!

Great video. Some advice I got from a David Barber video: to get different flavours of overdrive, you can use the volume and especially the tone controls on your bass/guitar. The resulting tones are way different from those you get by only using the tone knob(s) on the pedal. That’s because of overtones (and undertones) that come off the strings. Especially roundwounds. You’ll hear that there are way more possible tones between the (bass)guitar, pedal(s) and the amp! Most bassplayers think their bass only sounds great with the (passive) tone control way open. Well, that’s not the case... 🖖

I have bought all of my guitars new, but I decided to try one of these new as was interested to see what the active PUPs were like but thought wouldn't play it much and just pick up my Gibsons. But these sound great and the neck has a great feel. Apart from the nut it is so sharp on the corners when I catch it with my hand I have to check to see if I have cut it (literally). A simple fix, but an outstanding guitar for the money, or outstanding anyway.

What did you have your pickup heights set to?
