    Argentinian living in Paris since 2019 and 100% agree with these, I live in Montmartre and I mess with tourists but I know all the hidden spots there without tourists that's amazing ! Only thing: Republique is okay ! Nearby are many vintages shops, restos, bars and theaters and a big part of authentic Parisian life happens there, including protests, don't be afraid !!! And in Batignolles le Parc Luther King is the best ! I go always I can when there's a little bit sunny to have some mate 🧉see you there :) Belle découvert ton channel ! PS: We can see how there's nothing interesting in South Paris, yep

    Lucile - Is Bobby from Chicago? If not, why do you have a coffee cup with my home town Chicago Bears NFL football logo? 🙂 I am taking my dad to the French Open at Roland Garros in ten days for his 86th birthday. I haven’t booked a hotel yet and your neighborhood CZcams video might help me choose where! I love the look of Le Marais and I have friends who love it there, but the commute to the Bois de Boulogne for the tennis looks a bit far. I’ll rewatch your video and figure it out! PS. Je parle français. Quand j’avais 16 ans j’ai passé l’été avec une famille française à La Rochelle. C’était très sympa.

    Thanks for the great video! What do you think about La Villette area? Do you think it is similar to Stalingrad? I stayed around La Villette last year, and it looked gentrified, but vibrant. Lots of restaurants and cafés around the canal! I thought it was interesting, but it did have that big city vibe you talked about when referring to Stalingrad. I was lucky to be very close to a metro station.

    I was in Paris last week and stayed near Marx Dormoy metro station(Paris 18). I found one very good bakery there, it is also very close to Monmartre. But this area was so dirty, so many homeless people, or suspicuous people from Afrika... I am curious if this area is in a bad list of yours :) Anyway, it was easy to get by metro to the center, so not so bad in the end. I visited quickly Batignolles from there - it was very quiet and felt very safe and clean. Unfortunately, the market there was closed on May 9.

    This is probably going to sound really weird, but one of the things my wife and I love to do when in Europe is shop in the small, local grocery stores. We were staying in the Ourcq region of Paris and just loved the little store that we passed every day. So different that the stores in the US and that is one of the main reasons to travel......to experience the differences.

  • @davkatjenn
    @davkatjenn Před 2 dny

    I've been to Paris twice and my favorite thing to do there is simply walk around the neighborhoods and soak it all in. The very first time I went we were staying down in the Port de Orleans area. On the morning we were leaving to head back to the US I got up early and got out before the sun came up and walked about two K's from our hotel and just watched the people getting their shops ready for opening time. I waltched them wash the sidewalks. There for a short while I was a local and I loved it. We were there in January and no one was rude to us at all, in fact, the people at the boulangerie next to our hotel were some of the warmest, friendliest people that we have ever encountered. The US could use some of that warmth and friendliness.

  • @catherin77
    @catherin77 Před 2 dny

    In the US there is less job security vs Europe, hence people's mind constantly on work and that rat race. Not sure where European working hours statistics was taken from but read a couple of years back that UK (London) hours are longest in Europe. No way Greeks or Maltese work longest - it's a joke! lol

    I personally don't agree with the suburbs part ! There is Vincennes, Saint-maur-des-fosses, alforville etc that are outside Paris but you have RER A (One of the best RER of Paris) and actually you'll REALLY experience the real life of REAL french and Parisians that make paris feel like PARIS. People that work, study, shop in Paris the whole time prefer being in a calm city at the end of the day (and also a less expensive one ! so affordable for you as a tourist too.) Saint maur or vincennes you have cute spots, bakeries, restaurants, Marne walks (River) that are so cool to do ! You will really enjoy the experience. You ll have the time to take the train, go to paris, experience everything, have night walks and go back to your rbnb by train (RER).

    • @Ellemagace
      @Ellemagace Před 2 dny

      Also, Paris is a multicultural city. Depending of you nationality, origins etc you might feel good (or even better) in some places that are said to be "less attractive" or "safe".For example, the 13th arrondisement. "Olympiades" is mainly populted by chinese people. And recently by syrians, Lebanese etc. Sometimes it is qualified as less attractive but actually it's not the "cliché" of Emily in Paris. It is still interesting to see and stay in those places. In montmartre, you have "Barbes Rechechouart" part that everybody will tell you not to go to. Because it is populated by North african immigrants (Mainly algerian and tunisian immigrants) that seem to be dangerous. In reallity, they won't touch a hair out of your head as there is police eveywhere and also because you're not the customer they are looking for. Also there is cheap good food there and cheap places where to stay. "Shady people" are people trying to sell some "Paris souvenirs" but illegally. You can just IGNORE them as they will always be everywhere. You will see them in all the metro stations for example. What I'm trying to say is that those are very subjective suggestions but our mission as a tourist is to experience life and a city as it is. Believe me, you will be safe everywhere in Paris as long as you are awake and conscious of where you are going :)
