How do you make heavy cream from your cows milk? I tried to make it with cream separated cream and it was mostly butter with little-no buttermilk. Weird 🤷‍♀️ #newandconfused lol

I just made them for the second time using home ground whole wheat flour. The dozen eggs I used were ones I had experimented with dehydrating. Even using dehydrated eggs & home milled flour, this recipe still turned out amazing! So versatile & yummy with a little bit of strawberry jam ❤

I love your videos. One tip that I only recently learned is to get a "spider" if you don't have one. You can use it to take out and strain the bigger chunks (discard them) and then when you go to strain the rest of the broth you are only dealing with the small chunks and you don't get the splashy-splashy of boiling liquid everywhere. I use my spider all the time, just used it yesterday to separate black beans out of their cooking liquid and it worked great. Great for deep-fried foods too, of course.

I use Ruthann Zimmerman's basic white sandwich bread recipe and it comes out with a very soft crust. It's a really good recipe. I have tried a basic recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, but the crust is very hard and it crumbles when you cut it. So I am glad that I found a different recipe. The best part about homemade bread is the fact that I can completely control the ingredients in the bread. We can avoid allergens that way. While my kids can have wheat, they can't have soya and dairy. So I use smart balance dairy/soya free butter instead of regular butter. Of course we don't use preservatives. I made a double batch of bread on Saturday for my family of 10 and we are down to half of our last of four loaves. It's only Wednesday. Yesterday I made another double batch and put it all in freezer bags and put it in our deep freezer. It will stay there until we are ready to thaw one out and use it. The crust is so soft on Ruthann's recipe that it's like cutting through soft butter. My method of getting bread to rise is to take the bottom rack out of the oven. Put a cookie sheet on the floor of the oven. Boil a kettle of water and fill the cookie sheet with the boiling water. Stick the bowl in the oven on the rack and shut the oven door. Let it sit for about an hour. The humidity and the warmth of the hot water causes the bread to rise nicely. It works like a charm. I picked up that trick from a British baker.

Love both your channels however get rid of the"hello, darlin'" because it is not you and it sounds very insincere and actually quite cheesy. Quit trying to be something you're not just be you. Quit trying to be like Paula Deen and come up with a tagline. Just be yourself. Jess, I know you’re taking a break right now but I hope you do see this comment at some point soon. This year I became ambitious and planted 12 varieties of tomatoes in my little home garden, and I am expecting a bumper crop. I need to know what to do with all my tomatoes. I don’t know how to can, I don’t know how to use a pressure cooker, I can only eat several hundred sandwiches a week, so I don’t know what to do with all those extra tomatoes. Other than give them away. So if you can share some of your tips on what to do with a bumper crop of tomatoes, I would be grateful.

Thank you. I need to make mine low carb but I wanted to see what was in "real" ranch dressing. Can I use heavy cream or almond milk instead of milk to make that buttermilk element? I'm guessing you need some sort of milk/thin liquid in with the mayo and sour cream or it would be really thick. Thanks again. God bless you too. 😊

The choice of preservation method (water bath or pressure) is also influenced by the acidity and sugar content of the marinade. With a marinade with a higher acidity or sugar content, many vegetables (which have low sugar and low acidity) can be canned in a water bath. Therefore, finding a good recipe is key. Am I thinking right?
